Replacing back Hatch

I have always wanted more access to the battery/pump compartment on my 2820. I have four batteries, salt water wash down pump, macerator pump for livewell and a separate pump to fill the livewll. So there is a lot going on, here is my solution.

That is going to be a project of mine this spring (I hope).
My hatch will be the same one Warthog5 used on his 2530 project (in the project forum area).
Only difference I see is that your hatch is oval and Bobby's is square.
Either one should be water tight and do the job.

Can you tell us where you got that hatch, and maybe some specs on it?

I like the ideology about water tight hatches and opening up the battery compartment. I'm going to do the same but make slam hatches for the battery compartment and a in deck fish box in front of that. I just can't get over making a hatch that feels somewhat out of place. Just my thought process.

Its a Freeman aluminum hatch. 19x26. the cut out is 22x29. I saw warthog5's hatch and I liked the install (those are less expensive) but I did not want to have to stow an extra item to open it. especially if it was an emergency situation.
