Hey guys I am looking at adding some additional rod holders to my 2310 with a full transom. Basically looking for ideas or pictures of what some of you have done. I want to add them to the back/transom, but With the storage bins and the live well, flush mounts are out of the question.
any advice would be great.
thanks

I also have a 2310 and in addition to my standard rod holders, i have rocket launchers on the top and use a flat bracket mounted rod holder in the center of the stern. it is bolted right through the glass and supported internally. there is a small gap between the live well and the glass. i use this rod for a center mount flat line while trolling.

walt, thats kind of what I'm looking for. I don't want anything that sticks out too much. Do you have any pictures?

Matt,

They are available at many different locations including West Marine. I use it as the center line while troling along with Taco Outriggers running two clips each. So i can troll with a total of five lines in the water. this is a picture of it. it is all stainless and when i am not using it for trolling I mount a Magma Bait board in it. hope this works for you.

Walt I was looking at those, but had a couple of questions that I needed answer maybe you can help. I wanted to mount them on the deck side of the transom not the bracket side, so can they be put in the fixed mount both ways or only the way shown? How sturdy are they? Does magna sell a specifc mount for this or did you modify one?
Matt

Matt,

Mine is mounted on th edeck side, directly in the center in front of the live well. I have a 3/4" thick spacer between it and the glass as added support and the holder will then slid into the bracket in either direction, facing inward or aft. The magma Bait borad i purchased as a complete set and it included the adjustable rod holder bracket. I have srainless bolts with nylon nuts and washers on the inside. There is only about an inch or so between the interior of the live well and the outter wall. so it required me to use one of those special tools (spring loader grabber found in tool / auto stores) it only cost me four bucks and it comes in handy if you drop anything down in the bildge. I used it to hold the nuts while i was able to start the bolts, it required a second person becasue my arms arnt that long. Once they were started, I kept them from turning by usine an open end wrench which slid up in there and them tightened them from outside. I have used it a lot and it supports the weight of cutting on it wiht the bait board and will take any rod. works for me.
