Hey guys
I have found a few rotten spots on my roof from bad installs from previous owner. They seem to be fairly big (about the size of a basketball). Is there any epoxy or anything I can inject thru the screw holes that will neutralize the rot and buy me some time before the whole roof needs to be replaced?
I know of git rot but the rot needs to be dry and there's no way for me to totally dry these areas. I could use my air compressor to blow some water out but it will never be totally dry.

Thanks for any help! It's a new to me 2004 2120

I had some wet balsa core in my top from an improper install of the rocket launcher by a previous owner.
Mine wasn't rotten, just wet, and was at most... only 2 inches in diameter.

If you do a search in the Projects section, I documented my repair by over drilling, digging out the wet balsa, then filling the void with epoxy.
Once the epoxy cured, I drilled through the repair and re-mounted my rocket launchers with new stainless backing plates (on both sides).
Not sure if my repair will help you or not, but it's worth a look.

Thanks for the input.
I spoke with robin @ Parker and fortunately the roof alone is replaceable (worst case). Didn't get a $ figure from her yet but it gave me a little peace of mind knowing that worst case I can get through this season and then put a new roof on and mount everything properly. I hope not to have to but I've got two soft spots aboutnthe size of basketballs that are obviously going to get worse.

Look into Smith's Penetrating epoxy.
Maybe that would work for you...

Personally I'd dig out those 2 areas and do it right as Capt Kevin suggests ... as then the roof will never rot and never need replacing .. .

My father inlaw had the same problem with his 2120. They guy who owned it before did a real crappy install on the radar dome. Over time it allowed water to get under the dome and into the hard top to the point where water started coming inside the pilot house. We dug it all out last sping let it dry for about a week applying heat every day. Once dry we filled it with west system.
Definitely make sure you do it right the first time!

FYI, buy your epoxy products from Larry @ www.raka.com and you'll not only save 1/2 to 1/3rd of the co$t, but you won't need expen$ive epoxy metering pumps either ...

Did you do the original instal? If you did and you did it correctly I wouldn't worry about it, although it never hurts to redo anything that is mounted into fiberglass.
If you look at the pictures I posted you can see the previous owner used lag bolts to mount the dome, just plain stupid. And he clearly didn't predrill the holes as you can see.
