Share your anchoring tips and tricks

I've read all the comments in this thread and I've learned a few things.

I don't know that I have any methods of anchoring which would help.

I will add that when retrieving the anchor in choppy conditions I let the waves work for me. When the bow is dipping down my finger is on the switch and I stop as soon as the bow rises. This keeps the motor from working against greater resistance. This is done while in gear trying to keep the boat motoring straight for the anchor.
