I really like the Garmin 4208. The radar is impressive. I can't believe I went so long without one. I'm planning to add the depth finder and the Vision chip this spring. I usually launch at Crisfield and sometimes run as far as Plantation Light. When the sun sets early in the winter the radar comes in real handy. I understand that the GMR 18 is now in digital. Can you tell me the difference in the one that I have and the new digital unit? What differences would I see on the screen? To mount the Radome I had Marshall's Welding in Crisfield make an arch which I also mounted both of the GPS antennas. I can't wait for spring to get here. Seeing it sit in the driveway not getting used is driving me nuts.

That's a beautiful boat Tim. What year is she and what powers her? How many hours? She's HUGE and the ultimate offshore boat! Did you get her at Riverfront? I've never seen a 2801 in person and come spring I'd like to come check her out and take some photos if that is okay with you.

Bought the boat two years ago from a dealer in Ohio. Fresh H2O boat until last year. I keep her in the water at Newburyport Harbor Marina (behind the Starboard Galley). She is layed up at Newburyport Boat Basin...please come aboard this spring! Boat and engines are both 2001 models. I put about 150 hours on her LY, but previous to that the owner used her as a beach boat on Lake Huron. Never fished...definately got lucky with this one. Looking to maybe change out props this year as well as update trim tabs...as do most Parker owners.

Tim did the former owner of this 2801 own a second boat as well? Maybe another 2801? The salesman at Riverfront told me he had a 2801 up there in the lot and he also mentioned something about how the owner or former owner owned a second boat and didn't use the 2801 much.

The previous owner had like 5 boats....a 30' Rampage, a couple sailboats and another Parker in FLA. I think it was a 25 CC? Not positive. TK

We bought our 21SE almost one year ago. Thanks to everyone here at classic parker for all the help in putting her together. We have enjoyed her alot and looking forward to using her even more this year.

I once saw a great article I think in SaltWater Sportsman about the history of the CC. Anyone have info on the history of this great design?

Nice looking 1700. How is that console mounted T-top holding up? I've been thinking about adding a T-top to my 1800, but I don't want to drill the floor. Did you add any bracing inside the console to support it or just backing plates? Any signs of the console cracking or lifting rom the floor? How much top "wobble" do you get in rough seas?

Good questions. I’ve refastened my console to the deck during a fuel tank replacement. It’s extremely stout with double the fasteners and complete 5200 bond. The console mounted t top is specifically used to maintain deck clearance between the console and inside gunnel. I’ve fastened it with solid backing plates. It’s solid in rough seas. This Parker is the heaviest layup I’ve seen in boats and it’s a tank. I take it in 2-3’s at 6 all the time. No deck lift up. No wobble. It’s about construction and knowing what is enough to make it solid from top to bottom. For your 18, which is wider, drill into the deck and seal it well. It will be fine if the install is good. The 18’ is slightly wider.

I would drill 1/2" holes and fill them with peanut butter (cabosil and resin). Then drill the filled hole for 1/4" stainless lag bolts.
That way you will avoid water intrusion into the plywood even if the caulking fails.
