Ive been eyeing the 2120 sc for sometime now, not looking to go any bigger then that size and the parker seems to be the best boat i see to meet my needs in that size range, my only concern is the notched transom. Im not overly concerned about it, just never been on a boat with one and being that there will be many times when my girlfriend will be on boat with me as well as times i will be anchored i dont want to have wet feet all the time and having scared gf everytime some water comes thru. I know some of you guys have built splash guards and say they help alot, but im actually liking the set up of the new 2120 with the bait tank which for my needs, uses, and space requirements would fit me perfectly (never more then 2 other people plus me when fishing but mainly solo with 50/50 trolling and live lining, and 3 people plus me when cruising). It appears that with the bait tank and seats that are higher up the the splash well area is taller all around, being im not familiar with notched transoms i dont know how much water comes thru and am wondering with this new design if it will greatly diminishes the amount of water getting on the cockpit floor? After much research i am pretty set on getting a parker and will be attenting the new england boat show to get on one in person and set up a sea trial to make my final decision

I have a 2120 open transom and have removed the splash guard. It only takes up valuable deck space. The other thing i can tell you that i am glad to have a portable live well. I only need it half of the season and do not want to have it taking up deck space. As far as water getting in from the open transom this is not any kind of a problem. On days when you might get a little on the deck your girlfriend would not want to be out there anyway.

My suggestion get a second station and save your money also a bow pulpit is the way to go.

Good Luck,

The 2nd station is definetly the first thing i will be checking off on the options list, no way i could go without it seeing how as at least 80% of the time ill be fishing solo. I am liking the idea of the portable bait tank, not sure how that is rigged up but will have to look into it. I saw a post where someone used a cooler on a sliding track that acted as a somewhat splashguard and liked that idea alot as well cause a cooler would be used on every trip unlike the bait tank and could even get one with the seat and backrest that flips both ways so there would be extra seating on cruising trips. But was just concerned about to much water getting on deck and thinking the bait tank set up would do a better job keeping it out. Sea trials will answer my questions, unfortunatly dont think those will be happening till after winter. Also why do you say to get the bow pulpit, other then making it easier to anchor is there another benefit to it as well?

Ya the windlass is hopefully another option ill hopefully be able to check off on the options list. I aint young but i aint old, but the older i act hopefully the younger ill still be able to feel.....if that makes sense

Go for the Second station and the bow pulpit and windlass. The splash guard is a non issue.

I think you are the first person that I have heard actually likes this new design. I think it ruins the 2120.

For my needs it seems to look like it would work, however when i get to see it in person at the boat show i very well might not like the set up afterall. Especially seeing how as ive spent the last few hours looking at other peoples projects they have done to there boat set ups im starting to lean that way more. The biggest thing i liked about the new boat with bait tank was the higher more enclosed splash well area, majority of use will be inshore cape cod bay but on nicer days i would like to get a little further offshore and was concerned about water intrusion, as well as it had a bait tank. But after hearing that water intrusion is not much of a problem with the older set up and seeing the temporary cooler bait tank that someone posted and some other good ideas that others have posted on things i would like to do then the more room the better to have so once agian im undecided

And unfortunatly funds are not unlimited, but i plan on keeping this boat for a long long time, so ill start off with the most necessary such as def the 2nd station, and continue to upgrade as i can, afterall thats part of the fun and curse of owning a boat, endless options to continuesly upgrade

Dido on all of the above. I've removed mine also and water on the deck so far is a non issue unless you are backing down fairly hard and then it's not much and just runs back out. Pulpit, new Yamaha 225 Off Shore 2nd station on bulkhead or consider just auto pilot?? These are heavy boats so don't hesitate on spending money on the extra HP, JMO. Can you order the new 2120 without the live well in the old configuration? If so, I would consider that? I looked at the new one and it eats up significant deck space.

I believe someone had said that they had asked a rep and you could still get it configured like it was, however not 100% sure on that

You get a second station and that baitwell and you will have no deck space left. Put a large framed man and yourself in the cockpit and you won't have much elbow room.

Im far from a large framed man, 2 of me probally wouldnt even be a large framed man but i know what your saying.....thats the problem with pictures, they are quite decieving, hell there are pics out there that i even look half way decent in

In the for what it's worth department, order the port side opening front window for the measly $200 or so extra extra even if you live in MA. I purchased mine used without it because it had all the other basic things I wanted except that. I figured I could add it, and I can for about $800 and I do it myself. Even if you don't open it much, it's one of those things that you will regret for not doing it upfront. Again, JMO.

I have an 07 2120sc, 1st thing i did was remove the splash gaurd, I installed a cooler seat it works great, it holds about 10-12 salmon, I am a large guy and fish with another large one, we have had a total of 4 on board smallest guy was 6' 200 never had any major problems with water while trolling, I've anchored in 3-4ft slop while halibut fishing and never had a drop of water on board, I love the 2nd station, installing a windlass this month,

I have a 2013 21 SC and have no problem with the splash guard other than when I wash the boat, can't get the water to drain. I also use a portable live bait well and like others have mentioned remove it for half of the year giving me more cockpit space.

Windlass and auto pilot are a must. I'm 70 and use the anchor a lot and although it is in shallow water most of the time, the windlass is a spectacular option. Auto pilot makes those 25 mile runs offshore a breeze.

I do not have a 2nd steering station and am undecided whether to add it

The 21SC is a great boat you will love it
