Well I made a temp bracket to A, see if it has any reflection problems and B, to see if it looked ok, and C to see if the anchor will mess up my mounting spot, so have not got into the water yet, but tested last night, works perfect, I would like you guys imput and feedback, I can take it if you find faults, and the last pic is my son, he got his Black Belt yesterday :) :D

The picture order may be messed up

Well i can say that it looks great i like how you did it!!Very nicely done i bet there is no glare either good stuff!!!And Congrads. to your son getting his Black Belt!!!

I agree...it won't cause any glare, and the anchor shouldn't touch it in any way.

BTW, I considered mounting where you did...but decided to put my GoLite up on top of the radome. It is on a resin-drenched piece of thin plywood, with Rubermaid shelf-liner glued to the bottom. I use 1/8" nylon rope to tie it to the top of the dome. It stays put, and I can run the light a full 360 deg. There have been several times I was anchored up near a bridge and I turned the light to the stern to light up the pilings. That came in very handy. I have found that when it is up on top, I do not get glare off the white fore deck.

Next time I'm on the boat and I think of it, I'll mount it, take a picture, and add it to this thread.

That setup is built nice.

Just remember you can't aim it easily to the side as much as if it was on the cabin, as you'll get reflection.

Will be fine for straight ahead and left, right some of the way. Sweeping it will get you.

Well, hopefully we will head out next weekend for some hooping and I will try and report good or bad :)

Oh yes tara i love your Hull lites!!!They look great i so want to do that but am doing some much other stuff!!! I will have to hold off on them but i do like them alot!!!And like i said before the lite above anchor look great!!!Tell your boy to keep up the good work with his karate!!!You wont have to worry about anyone taking your fish with him by your side!!

Great concept and location for the light, straddling the anchor like that. :) :)

I couldn't quite make out the cable path for the light. Are you going to go horizontal with the cable to a vertical Pulpit Rail, then cable tie to the rail down to the deck? Or are you going to attach the cable fast to the bracket and follow the bracket legs down to the deck?

How and where will you penetrate the deck to get to a power feed and controller for the light?

Nice design on the bracket. 8) 8)

Congrats to your son. :D :D Huge Accomplishment!

The light is 100% wireless with a 5 yr guarentee, and it works perfect and is made to Military Standards ( So they claim ) and is 100 % water proof, what I did that you can not see is where the wires go through for the nav lights, I followed that path and inside the anchor locker , my son ( he fits) Zip tied to the windlass wiring and I ran into the electric box, wired to one of the rocker switches, and Vaulla , it worked :) But for now, as I have not ocean tested, I put a dab of 4200 about 3 inches apart and stuck that black wire housing to the pulpit, if it works like I think it will, I will make more permanant, but where it is on the front of the boat, it is completely out of the way of everythiing, that anchor chain roller I added, I will lower the roller about 3/4 of an inch if I feel I need to, I put that there as the anchor with the stock set up does not roll off all the time into the water, but I may change to a delta anchor, and that might make it so i can do away with that guide all together, as the rope and chain seem to slip off from time to time !

Hey how many watts or candle power is that lite cause it looks like it will be nice and bright!!!

Ok,,,,Got it.... There is a wireless remote control for light positioning, and the power feed goes through the Nav light cable path. Thanks!

Let us know how the trials go in the dark! 8)

Hey thanks for that link they have some nice lites on there!!! I am so tempted!!!

And the gal that answers the phone is very very helpful, and nice, and know everything about the light, as I had alot of ?????????? and they have the best deals, but i really did not shop around, someone steered my to them !

Check this out I just looked at it

I can tell they were good to you,you seem very very happy with how helpful they were, well good to hear that about them

I just got through with the same thing... but mounted a couple of Remote controlled spots off the radar tower, just below the unit. They were adjusted out so the distance between the two lights is now 3.5 foot. Orignally they were going to be right together, but found out that the lights would leak upside down...

I'll post some pictures in the upcoming weeks to show the lights working. The remotes on them are also wireless but they are a Stryker 500,000 cp spotlight. I wanted to have redundant spots out on the water, just in case I ever lose a bulb while coming in.

Cool mount, I would like to see a pic once you have mounted them !

Ok, radar and lights mounted now.... after the necessary coatings.
I'm sure I will love this the first time I go out.
Radar and lights wired and mounted without a problem. Mount is ultra solid and lights are wired and also wireless. Nice! Don't mind the bugs.. still have to pull it out and wash it after a 3000 mile trip.
