Do you use stabil for your 4 stroke eng. ? Let me ask, do you need to use any additive in gas tank due to the E 10 gas ?

What's EO? We only have E-10. I'm not sure about Yamaha but Suz factory oil had ring guard in it. You Do Not want to put more in. That stuff works!!! She will burn out all the carbon in the cyl. I just checked and Yamaha 4 stroke oil does have it in the oil. Be careful. My Suz mechanic told me this when I bought the motor. He said he is finding 4 stroke motor will low compression. When he asked the customer, they say they been using ring guard in there gas tank. Yamaha 4 -stroke. @@@@ using a proprietary blend of marine oils have -specific anti-wear additives, shear-stable polymers, corrosion inhibitors, detergents, dispersants and viscosity index improvers. In short, they’re far superior to automotive engine oils in their strength of protection@@@@

My selling dealer strongly suggested the use of Yamaha fuel stabilizer (description in the .pdf above) with the available E10 fuel. We added (6) quarts into the sales order.

Every bit of gas that goes in my lawnmowers, string trimmers and boats get's Non Ethanol and 1oz of stabil Marine added to the fuel per 10gal.

Like Bobby, I use Sta*Bil Marine in my lawnmower and gas powered tools all the time. 1oz per 10 gals of fuel.
Put it in the tank of my collector car, and in the boat too.

Boat also gets Star*Tron and Ringfree as well as full synthetic oil.
1oz per 10 gals of fuel for the Star*Tron and Ringfree.

Only E-10 fuel here.

I use it also on all my 2 stroke. Not on any 4 stroke eng.

Purchase the freshest and best gas available

Use a high quality fuel filter or a fuel and water filter. Some allow a clear bowl under the filter to quickly check for water and debris.
They are inexpensive, provide good protection and change often to suit your needs

Purchase no ethanol or E0 gas if available b/c more problems are seen with E10 gas

If using E10 gas, add fuel stabilizers recommended by the outboard manufacturer first then consider secondary sources for recommendations. A outboard company may recommend using another additive, ex Yamaha recommends using Ring Free in the gas in addition to a fuel stabilizers for E10 gas

Follow the instructions when adding it to gas (ex one ounce per 10 gallons of gas and need to purchase a measuring bottle)

A high quality fuel additive will have detergents to keep fuel system clean, help stabilize it especially if not using it on regular basis and help reduce phase separation. If you are burning gas often then one expects less issues and need for additives compared to gas sitting around for long periods of time
