I have a 2006 Big Bay 2300T with hydraulic steering. I have a leak at the steering wheel base. Dripped enough it hit the deck. Yellow in color. Also while driving I notice I am always turning wheel slowly while going straight down the lake. Is this a seal kit needed or a whole new $$ unit. I know which end of a wrench to hold.

It sounds like the front steering helm seals or O rings are leaking. Pull steering wheel, inspect for leakage around the shaft, remove screws and replace seals and top up fluid . I used round O rings from Ace Hardware instead of OEM ones which are slightly different on my Seastar helm

Posting pics would help..... just saying..... the above indo may be incorrect

I'm going back to lake this weekend and will check out steering and take pics if needed. I hope I can use it Saturday morning to fish and repair later in day. Thanks
