Hey all,

Looks like I'll be slipping the boat for the summer here in Santa Barbara, but before she goes back into the water, there are a few things that worry me and one of them is this swim step:

As you can see from the pictures, there is definitely something going on with the attachment of the inboard strut.

I use the boat for diving a lot, and would love a better arrangement, but I don't want to spend thousands of dollars on a custom swim step. Does anyone have any good recommendations for a replacement step? (or failing that, maybe just replacement hardware for this step that will attach to the same locations on the transom as this unit? (I assume it is OEM?)

Thanks

Brent

I dive off my boat alot too
I took my platform to a fab shop for a template
They had a scape piece of 1/4 inch plate ss cut it to match
I used that to reinforce my dive platform and attached a under mount
4 step ladder to it I also used slightly heavier bolts and washes
I'm am 6'6" and 240LB with doubles plenty of strength
works well
Got the plate and cut for 175.00

Not a great close up I can get one later if you want but it gives you the idea

The swim step for defender is very similar. The only major difference is the star-board color. The defender platform is pure white and the OEM one from Parker is off white to match the gel coat color.
