Lenco trim tabs on 2002, 21SE, could be original, not sure. I've enjoyed the boat for 11 months.

Actuators (if that's the correct term) seem loud (in the driveway, but nothing to compare to), also when they have retracted as far as they will go, there is still almost 1 inch of shinny stainless strut showing.

Are they failing to fully retract, and if so, is this a sign that the motors are about to go?

It is hard to describe the sound these things make, but it is certainly louder than the tilt/trim on my Yam HPDI.

Thanks

Bryce

Tab retraction is measured by the rear edge of the tab being 1/2" or so above horizontal and not by how much shaft is left.

No idea on the noise ...

Lennco tabs are electric, I have them and they do make more noise than pumps for hydraulic tabs, they may sound pretty loud out of the water.
