Thoughts on these cracks?

Just noticed these last night. They’re new within the past few days.

This is a 2001 21SE with a 200 Suzuki that was installed last year.

It it possible the gelcoat was compromised during engine installation?

Does this simply look like gelcoat cracks or something bigger? Please don’t say bigger….

You probably need to open it to see the depth if all gelcoat or any if any glass mat. Definitely needs to be done better.

Any hits of any sorts on or off water?
Trailering without motor support?
Or other details?

No hits on or off the water.
I keep a block of wood between the motor and trim assembly when trailering. Will get a picture and post as well.

FWIW, here’s how I’ve been storing the motor while parked and trailering.

Looks like they crushed the transom tightening the bolt

Thus the crack

Maybe there was a void in the transom layup

Think it’s nothing but bad news

The closer I look, the more I agree with this assessment. Maybe an undetected soft spot around the bolt hole?

I would like to ask you for a favor if I could. I'm having a hard time finding someone with a 2000 21se without any luck when your feed popped up with a 2001. I have a 2000 21se and have just had a bunch of work done including a gel coat respray. Unfortunately they removed the Warning/Capacity labels from the boat (although I like the cleaner look) and the only one I need to replace is the Capacity warning label. It was on the starboard side of the console - see photo. Unfortunately the photo is very poor and unreadable. Can you send me a clear photo of your label so I can have correct info when they make a new label. Parker has not responded to requests for the info.
Any help you can provide is much appreciated!

Good observation. Take a close look at the washer shown in the 3'rd picture. You can see where the washer mushroomed. I agree ... over-torqued.

Thanks a ton Tunagi! I actually never read the label before it was gone and was surprised to see max HP at 235! Guess I had more important stuff to do and never got around to reading it until it was gone. lol Thanks again!
