Does anyone have a link to a write up on a threw hull transducer install? I am thinking about putting one on my 18 parker. I don't really care for the wires over the transom.

Thanks
Camron

You may want to do a 'shoot thru' setup. I did that for my 1801...it worked really well. I got a 6" PVC pipe that had a screw on cap and faired and epoxied it to the inside of the hull at the back hatch. I grooved the inside of the pipe so the transducer would sit level and be stable, filled the pipe with mineral oil (doesn't freeze) and screwed the top on. served me well for over ten years with only periodic 'oil changes'. The quality of the Parker hull works well due to the fact that there are usually no voids in the fiberglass.

filled the pipe with mineral oil

That was the old way....The new product recommended is Non Tox antifreeze.

Camron what X-ducer have you decided on? What model FF /chartplotter do you have and how deep do you usually fish?

I havent decides on the transducer yet. The current unit I have on there is a Garmin 74dv generally I fish in 100 feet or less.
