How to determine deadrise with boat on trailer.
You will need a angle finder.
https://www.harborfreight.com/dial-gauge-angle-finder-34214.html
aprox 6in in front on transom.... on the bottom of the hull.
Take a reading on Port side.... Write that down
Now take a reading on STB side ... Write that down.
add both numbers together... and then divide by 2.
That is your deadrise number. Why do it like this?
It canceles out if the trailer is sitting on a angle.
Example : Port = 18deg ...... STB = 22deg Transom angle is 20deg
Transducers : [This is in their instructions]
X Ducer cover's 4degs less to 4degs More than it's marked.
So a 12deg would cover 8deg deadrise to 16deg deadrise.
A 20deg X-Ducer would cover 16deg deadrise to 24deg deadrise.
I install the Airmar B175M for the most part. Fishing 100ft to 600ft.
ATTENTION: Pay attention to the direction of the arrow... I've seen that screwed up a couple of times.
Older.. Non Tilted Anglae X-Ducers the arrow points FORWARD.
Tilted Element X-Ducers arrow point at the KEEL.
Use a 3 3/4in Hole saw for a 1000watt Tilted element X-ducer... Not a jigsaw to HACK a hole..... I've seen that too.
