Got my new 4 blade prop. I beached the boat at my marina yesterday and got the old prop off but the thrush washer will not come off. My mech at the yard saw me and he gave it a shot. No good. Today I will pull boat. I will get thrush washer off today. This motor is new with 55 hours. Makes me think. Is this outdrive getting hot ?? Now I will check the lower unit oil also. I have done tons of prop R&R and never did I have a thrush washer be this hard to remove. Is it Suzuki motors just this hard ? Any info? Thanks guys.

Soak with a good penetrant for 30 minutes and re-try. If really stuck try a gear/steering wheel puller. If you don't have one most auto parts stores lend them out. Many people suggest to give them a hard hit with a hammer (like freeing a car ball joint) but since I have a puller I like to use it. Liberal lube when reinstalling. good luck.

I got it off only to find out I had to use the old thrush washer with the new LFS4 prop. The new thrush washer the splines on shaft were showing. I call Ken. He said use the old thrush washer. I took the boat out. Wow !!!!! I'm happy. I'm at 4K RPM at 30 mph. That's 5 mph more. I get on plan better. Ken, nailed it!!! He said drop the pitch to 19. Was 20. My RPM are 5900 WOT at 41 mph. I wanted to be at 30 mph at 4,000 RPM. I got that. I have a full tank of gas also. Had my Dad on boat. Very happy. I thank Dale and Ken.

To top off the day. My Dads BD today. 86 years old. Took him out this morn before I pull boat. He got a 5 1/2 lb fluke. We weight it in at our tackle store Haskells. Great day. Happy BD Dad. !!!!

Marty, can you tell me more about your boat and motor? I've thought about re-propping but don't know if more is to be had. Thanks.

First. I have a Suzuki 250. The motor is all the way Down. I know everyone talks about raising there motor. If you have a Yamaha then yes. I can tell you that Suzuki motors and there prop like to run deep!!!! With this 4 blade I can hear the motor coming out of the water when I'm in the ocean. I had to do something due to this 05 Parker is ass heavy. In 06 Parker pushed there 150 gall tank up two feet. It's a 05-2320. What boat and year do you have? Motor ?
