Was wondering if anyone has the TIGRESS wishbone style outrigger mounts w/ TIGRESS poles? I just installed them today (pic's coming later). They are the 1.5" w/ 15'ft poles (telescoping). I am concerned with the poles and how they are secured in the mount. They have a spring loaded button at the base yet no hole in the mount for it. There maybe 5"inchs of pole in the mount, is this the norm??

we have the same poles but with the bar mount bases. ours has a hole in the base. i would be scared to death if it didn't. just drill your own holes. just make sure that you measure it out twice and take your time regarding the placement of the drilled hole and the direction that the guides face on the riggers.

lorikay2, how do you like the bar mounted bases?
KG, How was the installation of the Wishbone mounts?

I just purchased a 2004 2530DVEC and am looking to put outriggers on her, but am unsure how I want to go. I am leaning more towards the Wishbone mounts. I also like the ease of installation of the bar mounts, but am unsure how well they will hold up and how sturdy they are.

Thanks!

The mount install went pretty smooth. I started and finished the project in one day, not without a second person though. Keep in mind that each side of the boat is different, i.e. don't assume the same measurement will match each side of the boat. I did a lot of standing back and "eyeballing" the angles.
This great website will be a big help to you, it was for me.
I will be putting some pic's on here later...if I can figure it out.

Miss Virgie II - Do a search in the projects section for photos of my wishbones (mine are Lee Jr's).
There should be a number of photos posted there.

the bar mount bases are a joke. DO NOT BUY THEM!!!! we thought they would work for the seven or eight times a year we run off shore but after the third time we ran about 60 miles with then in the bases with the poles not extended, they snapped all the pins in the elbow on the run out. tigress did ship all new pins that snapped in the elbow and then some extras for "next time" which was cool but would have liked for them to come out and offer us new system given that they admitted that this was a typical problem. soooo i like the poles, and i like having the riggers out of the way but trying to install them 60-70 miles off shore, seven feet off the deck is a little ruff. if i had to do it again on a budget, i would go for the gunnel mount bases. if i could get anything, I’d get the wishbone style.

Thanks for the responses. I figured the bar mounts would not be what I was looking for...just trying not to put too many more holes in the fiberglass. I think I am going to go with the Lee Jr's. I'll let you know how that project turns out.
