Looked hard at a 08 2510 DV this past w/e. She is a beast, a abeautiful one at that. Can my 06 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 4x4 handle her? Specs suggest about 7500-8000lbs. For the most part the main towing would be a few blocks away from my house, but I see a few road trips each year at about 4oo miles or so. Any help is appreciated. The salesman said not a problem.

edit, Looks to me like that 25DV W/A is gonna weigh closer to 9,000 #'s assuming you have 2-150 Yamahas on the back. I would ask dealer to show how he determined weight?

Plus fuel, plus trailer, plus "stuff", plus..........

Hope your long trips don't involve any mountains

Thanks for ther replies. After looking at boat again I am thinking it may be too much for the Tahoe, which likley would have no problem with the 2310. Thanks again.

With trailer, full gas, engine/s, and gear your going to be close to 10.000 lbs. The brakes on your vehicle will be at the very max. And as the other poster said the transmission will take a beating. You better find the correct tow rating, Trailer Boat Magazine says 6500 lbs is the tow rating. I didnt have all the paticulars of axle ratio and engine etc.
Its all o/k until you rear end someone because you couldnt stop on time and your insurance co. may not have to pay because you were overloaded. Also what state are you in, if you have to have an oversize permit youll have to qualify that you are taged and registered for the weight. In the short run yes it will get you by but just know where you stand on the issues. I dont want to water down your fun but in this day of every one wanting to sue, be careful!
