if you can tow with your motor sitting on the two big pegs that stick out where the motor starts to slow down when trimmed down then leave it there. If not get a piece of wood to stick in between or one of those trailering motor holders.
 
My motor (E-Tec) has a built in trailering bracket. :cool:

And I have the helm hard over so the motor is on a stop while trailering = no bouncing/vibrating to stress the steering system.
 
I have 4-stroke F 150's yammies and when you put the motor all the way up you can flip a metal tab down on the side. You then ease the weight of the engine down onto this tab. This is how I was told to travel any long distances. And I also have them turned to one side so the hoses are not cranked/bent against the bracket.

Those are too cool. Ordered one for both boats!

Thanks for the pointer. I don't like trailering long distances on the maintenance stop. It really isn't very strong.

check manual and or dealer, but yama said not to use trailering bracket on F250 for towing. Looks a little under weight for a bracket to me too. I use a piece of 4x4, gives good height for hills ect.
 
I raise the motors until they lift off the two rams (trim), and then drop them back down so the weight is on both rams.

Point of trivia...the two outboard rams are trim (very slow and powerful), while the center ram is tilt (fast and less power).
