I searched previous posts and did not see anything regarding opinions/ information on trailer bunk glides. I have been noticing that my bunks are a little worn and may need new carpet soon. I am launching twice a week from April to mid- February so my bunks get a workout. I have an 1801 which a very easy to launch/ load boat. My concern is more with hull wear than anything else. Is my concern warranted? I have installed teflon bunk glides that I made, on my Carolina Skiff trailer but that is a completely different hull. The first time I loaded the skiff after the trailer-alt, I almost drove her through the back of my truck!

i have two long center bunks that have plastic that go the entire length of the trailer. The front of the boat when full on rest with the front part of the boat on the plastic center bunks and the stern and most of the weight on the back larger carpeted bunks. When loading and unloading the boat never touches the carpet until it is pulled out then it just sits on it. Ill try to get a picture one day.

You may want to be concerned launching that much.

I took my 'Slick Glides' off because I had to keep the boat running in gear when loading until I had the bow strap attached -- otherwise she would slide back off the trailer.

Also, I didn't like the slipperiness of the 'glides' while on the road. I want my boat to sit un-movingly on the bunks while going down the highway.

OK, so I eventually bought an electric trailer winch...I'm getting old and running out of muscle/wind cranking her up those bunks; but I'm a very happy camper now!

Heres a few. switched out my 9800# tandem axle trailer once i weighed the boat empty and it was 10200. So now this is my new triple axle 13800# trailer. Spent the money to have it adjusted perfect. makes launching and loading so much easier.
