My starboard side tab is not working or making any noise when hitting the switch. Any advice on where to start trouble shooting? Are they on seprate fuses? is it common for them to freeze up? Thanks

What type of tabs? Electric or Hydraulic? I'd start with the switch and work from there. I've had to replace the switch on my 1999 hydraulic Boat Levelers.

if the Lenco's. check in helm area, just after the external switches for a plug assembly. I had this issue and found each left and right, had a plug assembly about 12" from the switch connecting the wires that ran to the stern.
A shot of CRC ( or WD 40) in the plug and reconnected did the trick and hasn't acted up since.

Thanks for the responses, i have tried applying pressure to the tab, but it does not seem there is any power going to it. The tabs are Lenco electric. I am hoping the attached picture may offer some suggestions as to what my next step is. My theory was to change the wiring from right to left to determine if it is the tab or the switch, however when looking under the helm there is one plug for both switches that flows directly into larger box. I assume the box is the brains of the operation. I am open to any and thankful for any advice.

May be the actual actuator... I had to replace both of mine (Lenco) last year. Not a difficult fix...

I say actuator too. They just quit with no sound or warning. Had to replace both of mine within a season. Found replacement actuators discounted from on-line marine discount suppliers. Easy to change out by splicing the wires before they go through to the outside and then re seal the opening.

Lenco provides top notch customer care... the girls down there will help you find the problem quickly.

There are two possibilities for accessing the trim tab wires. They are either tied up in the aft bilge across the transom just behind the bilge pump or they are up under the gunwale above the starboard jump seat at the back corner. If all wires are in the aft bilge the wires will run just under where the stringers meet the transom on both port and starboard side. If the wires are under the gunwale only the port trim tab wires will run under the stringer the starboard will run directly up to the gunwale from where they come through the transom.

Either way, there is enough wire to pull through from the outside... (I had about 12-18inches)

You will have to cut the wires and pull them back through the holes in the transom from the outside. You will need to remove the top mounting triangle of the trim tab actuator to accomplish this. It is not generally easy to pull them back through due to the sealant use to seal the holes (get some caulk remover spray). You will want to make sure after installing the new wire and screws in the triangular foot of the actuator that generous amounts of a sealant such as 3M’s 5200 is used.

You may want to run another check once you cut the wires and go directly to the battery to test the actuators

The tabs are Lenco electric.

That should have been in the title or the 1st post.... 5 posts at guessing what you had. This goes for any problem....We need the FACT's.

Lenco provides top notch customer care...

This is due to Bennett tabs being the #1 company in the Marine industry when it comes to costumer service. Lenco had to "Try" and keep up or fall to the side.

OK.....Typing can sometimes come across with a, out of context intent of meaning. Sorry... :( Dating sites are the worst. [No body language or smile.]

There that better? :)

It's also one of the reasons why we encourage posting photos with a question.

I will agree computer generated messages are absolutely the worst means of communication when it comes to trying not to sound bad.
Correcting the misunderstanding is top notch in my book. This is a good group of folks on a great forum.
