Trolling Motor on 99 1801??

Hey Everyone!!!

New to the board here. Just wanted to know if anyone has seen a trolling motor on the 1801? I am currently looking at one very seriously but a trolling motor is a must for me and i was just thinking that the higher sides on this rig might be too high. Please help me find out... I am very interested in the boat!!! Thanks!!

I have an 1801 and am planning to mount a 80# thrust Minn Kota Riptide with i-Pilot GPS controller in the next couple of weeks. This model comes with either a 54" or a 60" shaft. I think that the 54" shaft may be a bit short. I am going to measure deck to LWL tomorrow AM anyway, so I will post my decision on shaft length.

Although not on my Parker 2120, I have a minn kota 70# thrust 24 volt system with a 60 inch shaft with auto pilot on my Tracker 1448 Grizzly Jon boat. The motor is freaking awesome and makes the all welded Jon boat scream across the pond. The remote control is way cool over the foot pedal for both speed and direction. The biggest mistake I made was not understanding the shaft length and taking advice from the salesman at Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats, who just gave me real bad advice. He advised me to get that 60 inch shaft. Oh I got the shaft alright, every time I try to cast from the bow.

The shaft is so long it sticks out of the water 4 of 5 ft which blocks casting from the bow. I bet I could put this on the front of my Parker 2120 and it would be the perfect length. Anyway I thought I’d share how important it is to measure before buying.

I have a 80lb 24V I-Pilot on a 2320SL the 60" shaft was to short so I found a 72" shaft and it works great.

I measured the bow to waterline distance on my 1801. 40". I think that the 54" shaft MIGHT be OK, but you may wat a little more height for leverage when deploying the TM

I have a 21SE and am getting ready to put a 24V 70lb Rip Tide on it but am having to order a special length shaft because the 60" is not long enough. I am ordering a 96" shaft and wire kit from Bowfishing Extreme and will cut it to length. I am sure the motor will move the 21 so an 18 should be fine also. Here is the link to get the longer shaft.

I have a 21SE and have a Motor Guide Great White 60" bow mount. I use it for ocean calico bass fishing in southern California. The 60" shaft is fine most of the time. If there are large wind waves, the prop will come out of the water but this is not too much of a problem for my style of fishing.

I have an 1801 with an 80# thrust Minn Kota Riptide with 60" shaft. I have used it for several seasons now with no issues. The 60" shaft is long enough for the 1801.
