I am having Bennet tabs (M80s) Fitted to my 1801 and contemplating props for my Yamaha F115. Currently running 13-1/2 X 17 three blade SS Yamaha prop. Not especially happy with the hole shot and acceleration - especially with a couple guys, full tank of gas and the 30 gallon bait tank full. WOT is about 5800 and 36 MPH with the load. Slow to get on plane.

Once I get the tabs installed and can test for correct engine height, I am thinking about fitting a Yamaha Performance Series prop - 13-1/4 X16. I anybody running one of these props on their 1801 with Yammie F115? Like it? Hate it?

Your WOT RPM's are pretty good at 5800 but top speed seems a little low for that pitch. I would definitely wait and see how things change after you install your tabs and make sure your engine hight is good before changing the prop. I just think a 16 pitch will drop your top speed and cruise speed even lower and you won't be happy with it. It should get your RPM's to 6K plus for sure. Have you considered a Permatrim? I put one on mine and planning time and bow angle is much better.
I would do the following in this order, testing after each to see if it's better:
1. Tabs
2. Engine hight
3. Maybe 13.25 x 17 ??
4. Permatrim??

Good Luck!

Thanks, that's pretty much what I had in mind. Should be done with tabs and tune this week.
