I wanna move my vhf antenna to the foward part of the roof next to the radar my qustion is what kind of screws should I use (self tapping or nut and bolt) and is it easy to snake the wire thsnks

#1 You use the Shakesphere HD rachet mount.
The top is drilled and filled, then redrilled. It is thru bolted .
You'll need the Shakesphere wedge kit to make the mount sit straight and the antenna not to be crooked.
This was the first mounting before the Crows Nest. A LOT of people use those Stainless Clam shells. I use Blue Seas cable Clams. It stops having to cut cable ends off.

Mount it to the handrail. 4 less holes in the roof.

Yah I'm not big into making holes in the roof if u don't have too
handrail mount is a great idea. just one hole for the coax cable.

does it matter where u drill the hole to run the wire to the cabin

The mount I posted is a lot stronger than a rail mount...But if you like it go ahead....Holes don't bother me....It just takes attention to detail.....Which most don't know how to do or take the time to do it....A production shop will not take the time.

I agree with warthog drill so the PVC that runs the permitter of the roof catches the wiring for a nice clean look.
