Just a brief note to make mention I have removed the "NY" for my original post. That means I open to boats from other sates.

Thanks

Here is one in NJ

http://jerseyshore.craigslist.org/boa/2403021509.html

For sale is a 2006 Parker 18 center console and trailer with a new garmin 541S plotter and fish finder and a standard horizon vhf. The boat is very clean and must be seen to be appreciated, the engine has 346 hours on it. No e mails will be answered NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!! For serious inquiries, call 856-261-9100

You know Chris I phoned that fellow hours after the posted it to Craigs. Then twice since then.

No return call.

Guess he dosen't want to sell the boat that badly.

UPDATE Spoke to the owner last night.

Owner has no Paperwork for the trailer. He will not pursue obtaining a title for it. That's a major headache for me and makes the trailer worthless.

So that said.... still looking. :D

I dont think they issue titles for trailers in nj. Just need it to be listed as home made trailer on the bill of sales so it can be registered.

He told me he had " no paperwork" for the trailer and would not persure obtaining it. With no title or proof of ownership there is no way I'm risking purchase.

When we bought our first boat, the trailer was not registered or titled and we contacted the police dept. They inspected the trailer and completed a form which took to the license branch for title and registration. This was in the early 80s and it took some time for the entire process to be completed. Today, the details are posted on the net.

good luck

best

Is this Mike from Essex CT?

Hey Tommy D,

I just wanted to chime in on the NJ trailer title issue. I live in NY and bought an 1801 and a Venture trailer from a NJ seller. The seller had a "certificate of origin" which had forms on the back for transferring ownership. The first form showed a transfer of ownership from the dealer to the first owner. Then we filled in the second form showing transfer of ownership from the first owner to me.

When I registered the Parker in NY, NYS DMV kept the trailer COO and issued me a standard registration card which is marked "Transferable." On the back of the card is the same form for transferring ownership should I ever want to sell the trailer. So through the life of this trailer, there has never been a true "title", per se.

Could the NJ Parker Faithful chime in here? In particular, if you have a NJ registered trailer, could you look at the back of the card and tell us if there's the same form for transferring ownership as the NY registration? Just curious. :D
