Would it be possible to tee off the existing thru hull that provides raw water to the engine and add a wash down/livewell pump? Or would this be maxing out flow for the strainer? (im just trying to avoid drilling another hole in her hull)

Also can anyone recomend a good and fairly priced pump that can serve both as a wash down and live well pump?

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't compromise the water flow to the engine, put in a dedicated seacock for the washdown.

If you had a problem and had to shut down the valve, you would loose your power which could be fatal under less than perfect circumstances.

ditto what bryan said. I don't think there is a pump which can do both washdown and livewell functions and last long but you can "y" both of those pumps off the same water uptake with a seacock ofcourse.

will the rule have enough pressure to wash off blood?

So the Paramax 4 will connect to the bottom of this pump where the plug is? And then very bottom "stands" on the thru hull??

This looks like a glorified cartridge bilge pump...that being said wont water drain out of this through the seacock if the pump is off?

Are there any pics floating around of a setup like this?

The Par Max pumps are real nice. Had one on my last boat. My Shurflo's pressure can't compare. Only thing to watch out for is that if installed in a wet area, the Par Max pressure switches corrode real quick. Not a big deal since pressure switch replacements are readily available. Just an inconvenience when they crap out on a bloody day.

FishFactory,

May not be CAD quality, but it totally gets the point across.

So basicly the pump runs the entire time I have bait in it? I figured I would cycle it as needed.

Fishfactory,
How is your thru hull strainer attached to the hull? I am setting up something similar on my 1801 and I have the strainer attached by threading to the seacock. The strainer also has four holes for attaching to the hull, but I am hesitant to put any more holes through the hull below the water line than necessary. Is the threaded section that attaches to the seacock enough to hold it in place without the additional screws?
Thanx 8)
