I had my saltwater washdown stop working yesterday while out fishing. I still have power at the switch on the dash and the breaker is not tripped. The connections look good on the quick visual inspection but I have not torn into it yet. I am suspecting the pressure switch. The setup is a Jabsco, standard issue Parker from the factory. Anyone have these problems yet? Or pointers in the right direction? I am going to wait till the work week starts to pull it apart, need to get out on the water today. Any pointers appreciated.

In 2002, they used Shurflow "Blaster Pro" pumps. Those pumps lasted about 1-2 years and needed to be replaced. I've replaced it twice.

Seems the weak point in all these pumps is the seal between the pump and the motor shaft bearing. The seals leak and let saltwater into the bearing...which freezes it up of course.

Next time I need to replace it, I'm going with the high-end Groco: http://www.groco.net/images/pumps/pumps-deckwash.htm

Groco pumps are definately the gold standard in baitwell and washdown pumps.
My 1996 model 2520 has a Blaster in it. Don't know if it is original equipment or not.

Johnson 70 PSI Complete Wash Down Kit
Mfr # 64534 Our Stock # 356981167 I have been using this system for over a year and am well pleased with this pump. The pump has a auto switch that shuts it down at 70 p.s.i It maintains a pressure between 40 to 70 p.s.i. at all times and does not pulsate like alot of the more expensive pumps do. Price is very resonable and installation is quick and easy. I turn the main power switch on to the unit leaving the dock and the built in switch controls it under use and rest until I return. Very reliable.
I bought this from eAngler.com That is their stock number listed.
Output is 5 gal. per minute. More than two times the pressure of the
Groco pumps, or the blasters.

Mine just began acting up last weekend. I have power at the switch and the breaker is fine. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I'll play around with it more on Friday.

Sounds like the pressure switch to me. Thats what I think mine is. My cousin has an Auquasport with the same pump and his switch went bad so I bypassed it. You have to turn it on and off manually but it still works. He was too cheap to buy the new part.

We had a problem with our Shurflow ProBlaster pump and it turned out to be the factory harness...there is a plug for the entire harness (kind of like an extension) in the transom where the male-end completed corrode off for the washdown pump connection (and only the washdown pump. Simple continuity test determined it. Prior to that, I never knew there was a plug as it was kind of hidden. Now we make sure to apply di-electric grease (sp?) on the male/female connection on a yearly basis.
