Got alot of maintence work done after hauling out. Had them change the water pump since it has been 3-4 years.

I have a 2003 150 HPDI. My w/p and thermostats were almost 100$. The mechanic came to my house and changed it. He lives 10 miles from me,and charged me 100$. He even took the time to show me every bolt to remove and where they are located. Next time I will do it myself. Other than locating the bolts there is really nothing to it. You just have to take your time. There are many videos on you-tube to show you how.

I have been trying to do more each season, but this bill has really irked me good. I am going to try and do more maintence repairs myself from now on. If not I am going to get a mechanic who will do some work on the side and when the boat is sitting in my driveway he can have at it. This is the first time I had the boat blocked out in my driveway instead of winter storage. The boat is going to get alot of needed TLC this winter. With the weather in the 60's here today I got to do a little. By the time March comes I will be in Great shape.I looked on Sim Yamaha and saw what the parts for a water pump were, I figured tops 120.......alot less than 268 which I was charged.

Suggestion!

Buy a "Factory" Manual..... Do NOT......I repeat......Do NOT buy a "Aftermarket" manual for you motor.

You will be money ahead.

Aftermarket manuals include Seloc and Clymer.

I am pretty sure I am going to repower after this season, but I will make sure I get it with the next Yami. Looking at new inline 200.
