Well just to update my story about the coaming pads,i made them myself and think they came out awesome. Here are so pictures from start to finish!!!

Wood is 1x6x54 1/2 inches made 4 hole in it to put bolt through, then water sealed the hell out of the wood!!!

While waiting to dry i cut the padding to size then once dry i put padding on wood then got marine vinyl in white attached 1 side and used staples to attach it wrapped it around the padding and wood then i put felt backing on it so you dont see the wood at all!!Then in the picture you can see finished product!!!Made 1 for each side!!!

Cost of project

$12 for wood and bolts and nuts!!!
$18 for the vinyl
$25 for the padding
$8 for the water sealer
$5 for the felt backing
$7 for 6 pack of beer while doing the project!!!

Total job was about $80 to do not bad

Thank you very much!!! I hope to meet up with you 1 day on the water and have some good fishing going on cause i am in Brooklyn as well!!!Thank you again!!!

We'll meet up one day.

You might want to re-consider Gateway though. You're paying double the prices of other local marinas for no reason really. Try DeMeglio's on E. 69th & Ave Y. I am going to try moving there this year also. I'm getting pissed off at my marina. They measured my boat this year and charged me the actual length. I've never heard of other Brooklyn marinas doing that.

Yep they were stainless staples and galvanized bolts and nuts as well as washers!!!But thanks for taking a look at the coaming pads i think i did a good job!!!

A lot of marinas are doing that these days.
Anything to suck a few extra bucks from hard working fisherfolks. :(

I agree Kevin....That big spring stripers will have him digging

his knees deep into those pads..( hope so anyway)

good luck....nice work.

Fairwinds in Cape St. Claire did that, and their yard had lots of empty/unoccupied space all last summer. With the cost of fuel, the marinas have to be careful else the customers simply leave or sell the boat and get rid of the bleeding all together.
