I know the switch at the controls can go bad and if you had it wrapped the switch in the actual cowling might have gone bad. Are you hearing any sounds when you try any of the 5 switches?

With dual motors ... when in doubt SWITCH the relays. As said, you should hear an audible CLICK at the motor (remove cowling) if the relay is energized. Will she crank? Trying to isolate as maybe the OB ain't getting juice ...

Oh, and most marine relays are made by Sierra, I buy smae thing @ good auto part store that the boat stores and dealers charge 3x to 4X for.

Do you have 2 batteries, one for each motor? or one battery for both?
If 2, check the voltage inside the cowling at the connections.
If 2, swap battery cables
Are you using a battery switch? Maybe it is set to 1 battery inside of 2.

Where were the batteries stored off season?
One dead cell will cause staring problems>
What is the at-rest battery voltage?

I’m in the process of fixing the same problem. Our 225 saltwater series started acting all funny. Stopped going up and down and would kill the motor when underway while trying to trim it. Went thought all the connections looking for a short and found the tilt and trim relay was shot. So if you have the repair manual for you engine, you might want to check the relay for continuity.

u might have hit the nail close to the head, both batteries are 100% but the trim tilt is shot on port....i swapped batteries but same thing ...still under warranty so i .......phoned it in but they asked to try and self diagnose.....

ill check again this week

Make sure the ground for that particular engine is clean and getting good contact with the engine block.
