I usually am on 72 over there. I go by Peter Parker to make it easy to listen for. 25 extended cabin with a tower. well probably do a short trip saturday to sunday. we had people take off work last weekend to go to lucaya and that didnt work out so its hard for them to take off again.

i called bootle and they have 1 room available but they are saying that they require 2 nights. so i am going to call again tomorrow and see if they have any one whos taking it and if they want to rent it for me for one night. so i might end up at blue marlin which is right behind you. well be diving and fishing north of memory.

I am sure they will provide a room if it is not full. I have heard it has been slow over there.

Will look out for you.

Take Care

Howd you end up doing over there? Im pretty sure we saw you come in the inlet when we were out front sitting on the dock of the house.

Had a great trip. 2-3 on the way over from Stuart. Last 10 miles had some storms 4-5. took 4.5 hours. Great fishing, did not run down to Tuna Canyon but got 8 dolphin over 30lbs, lost several over 40. Deep dropped and got some Yelloweye and Queen. Came home monday, flat.
I saw you were at Dr's house. How is that?
Bootle was great.
60 gallons on the way over and 45 on the way back. Total of 160G for 4 days. First time in several years. Looking foward to going back.

the house was awesome. we had 7 stay there that night. one room had a full bed and the other room had twins and we had 2 on blow up mattresses and 1 on the couch. We ran up to white sands and snorkeled and dove on Saturday. The crossing was ugly and the whole day the wind blew which im sure you noticed. Sunday was awesome. We ended up with a few nice dolphin and messed around catching cudas, sharks, and snappers on the reefs. What fuel burn do you get going back and forth? We made it back Sunday in about 1.5 hours. We were running about 40 most of the way. I burned 165 gallons in my 2 days. We ran over 200 miles. I average about 1.2-1.3 loaded up for that trip.

I have only had the boat for two months now and love it. I have had many Makos, from 15' to 26'.
Single 250 Four Stroke, Over loaded on the way over was 1.5 to 1.6mpg and on the way back was 2.0 MPG. With a lighter load in the river cruising at 25 knots we do 2.8 - 3.0. We only did 22-25 kts.

Who do you talk to about the house? Do you have a contact for me.

I was not expecting as good a ride on the SE model but it is much better than any of the Makos i had even the 26B model. We did not anticipate makig crossings in it, mostly for fishing off of Stuart but it has been such a great boat we plan to do it again. Need to get a drift sock for emergency though. Bought a ACR PLB and will keep that on the boat.
Seems to be ideal for our situtation.

Trim tabs work great

So you are running a single on that boat? should be fine for crossing just a little wet is what i have noticed from the 25 hull. but ive also crossed in 5' most of the time. i actually rented the house through bootle bay.

we are planning a trip to the abacos probably early august and i have a condo that i already paid for in lucaya that i am going to go to also. which means i need to make another trip in there for the 2 trips with in 90 days. Let me know if you guys are thinking about another one. We leave out of Jupiter so you could run down here or we could meet about 10-12 miles offshore and at least be in radio contact.

I will let you know when we go back.

Have made several crossings in 23 Mako Single engine and 26 Mako Twins. Will cx if wx goes down. We did get a little wet when the seas picked up but very solid ride.

Did you get a 90 Day fishing and cruising permit? We only got a 30 Day, i forgot about the Budwieser, it has been a few years since i cleared customs.

Can you suggest any snorkling areas for Hogfish? We saw a few small ones behind Indian Key on the flats but two small to shoot.

you cant get a 30 day pass they are all 90 days. So you can go back between now and whenever that is. You still have to go through customs and all that but you just dont pay unless you bring more than 4 people. then its 15 per person over 4.

The places that i have found for shooting are obviously further away from the island. Most people run up to white sands or lily sands which is about 10 miles NNE of Memory Rock so its about 30 plus miles one way. thats where we went but it was overcast and nasty by the time we got there so we just fished and came back.

Yeah beer is $50 a case over there. I try to bring everything i can.

Thanks for the info.

We gave a case to the "dock man" and case of chicken to the Vida's wife and a large bag of clothes for the local kids.
