Well i didn't have many big projects planned for this spring the plan was to get the boat in early. That has all changed. My Parker decals have taking a beating over the years and started to look ratty. With a little persuasion from my cousin (Bryan2530) and myself getting sick of looking at them off they came last night.
Now I got a project on my hands. I don't plan on replacing them I like the looks of my toys with out decals and clutter. My honest opinion is Parker has to many decals going on the pin stripe and the Parker logo on the pilot house is enough for me and those will probably come off one day as well.
Next step is to start wet sanding and buffing until I get it to where I want it. Hopefully the weather up here in CT cooperates this weekend to get a lot of it done.
The rest of the stripe is coming off too just haven't got there yet.

I concur. I order a name to put on the pilot house over the winter but then when I saw her all cleaned up with the old name removed, I decided to keep her name free. Maybe I'll add it to the stern. She went in on Tuesday.

I dunnoh ... in all my years boating (at least until I bought a Parker anyway ;) ) I had never seriously considered Parkers as they're just too plain looking ... molded in all just one color and they looked like floating 'Clorox' bottles ...

file.php

Then I added some nice teak trim and a red boot stripe to set off the beige hull and to complement the black rub-rail trim ... and now I think she looks like something!

But to me, without ANY decals ... you're back to a Clorox bottle-look, sans the label ...

I just felt the boat looked to busy before, with Parker on the side with a stripe and Parker on the pilot house with the 2320 and a stripe to much for me.My days of taking care of teak are over been there done that NO THANKS! Thats why I bought this boat simple and easy to take care of.
Im happy with the way it looks now. If my truck wasn't 5 years old when I bought it I would have all the decals and emblems off of that too. I guess everyone has there own preferences.
I was able to get one side wet sanded and compounded this weekend before by buffer pad blew up on me (which was almost catastrophic as the threaded metal piece nearly cut a nice groove in the hull) . I am going to wait a couple days to see if the images appear again if they do I will wet sand ad buff again but I think they are gone for good.
Pic below of the port side, and also my definition of a Clorox bottle

Looks great. I personally like the look of the hulls without decals or stripes. Plus when you compound the hull or pull up at a dock you don't have to worry about scratching up your decals.

I agree I love the Parker Logo on the side
I also like the Parker beige color
I like how it is "not" the same white as the rest of the "Herd"
Distinctive lines, color and Decal was what sold me in the first place

I have a 2320 love the color like the decals hate rear deck. I gotta get away from that dirty deck look, carpet, ceramic tile, dri deck, pergo, vinly floor??????????????? tired :? of scrubing it

Bleach, sit back drink a beer, rinse.

That is the Megabyte method, works great. No scrubbing.

Or Bar Keepers Friend. Works great and can be had at Lowes or home depot. Wouldn't use it anywhere other than the decks though as it has mild abrasive in it.

Yeah Mikey usually Parker's stand out like a sore thumb. Although you do get a few folks who have never seen one and are amazed when they hear who the manufacturer is.

Ditch the "2320" emblem under Parker on the PH and everyone will swear your boat is a 25.

On the practical side, without the pin stripe and Parker logo on the hull sides, you don't have to worry about mucking them up against the dock. My Parker was designed as a utilitarian no non-sense boat..........I like both the plain look and the idea of not replacing pin striping and logo when they get torn up.

While I never intend to sell my boat, if I did just think how easy it would be to add some new Parker hull decals.

haha good call on the 2320 decal! This is enough work for now I think the pilot house decals will go next year

I took the logo and stripes off the trunk cabin a couple of years ago when I installed outriggers.
The outrigger bases covered the logo and the pin stripes had suffered the ravages of time, so off they came.
Same with the pin stripes on the hull. 17 years of compound and wax (and dock fenders) had them looking poor, so off they came.

This year I was going to replace my hull logos with fresh ones, but after getting everything off and compounding out the ghost shadow, I don't know.
Might just leave them off for a year and see how it moves me.
I like the Parker logo and I think it makes a statement, but it's tough to wax around without damaging it a bit each year.

Here is a shot from yesterday.
I covered the bottom paint with 2" painters tape to keep the compound and wax off the paint...
After looking at it, I'm tempted to put on a blue boot stripe this year. The "Olympic Blue" color makes me go Hmmmmmmmm.......

I like it.....It'll match your Maryland Registration Sticker. :D

They change the color of the sticker every year, but yea...
I have the new fishing license stickers for '13. They will go on after waxing is complete.
They are green. :(
