hey guys trying to get an iidea on what its worth its a 06 2520 dv twin 150 4S in a notch transom 400 hr. and the dealer just did the 500hr service on it last week . so heres what it has on her >2-504 icoms 1-582l ff 1-1720C7"navnetv2 gps 1- 1831 mk3 radar 7" 4kw 36 nm dome 1>rd 32 gps 6 man life raft viking. lee top mount riggers 18' poles 30 galon live well mounted long way in cockpittinted windows port side helm seat and rod storage in the pilot house and a new 700ff windless
like i said im try to get an idea i would like to move up to a 28'

Man, I hate to say this but in this market a dealer friend of mine told me that there is no "premium" for electronics or stuff.

It's hull and motor. Period.

Market is so soft that dealers are coming in at 10-20% below BUC #'s.

I agree with TheOtherLine for the most part but I buy and sell lots of equipment including boats and RV's that are the hardest hit right now. I do believe options give you an edge. Fact is you usually never get your value out of options in any market condition as they are not for everyone. Your boat is well equipped and assuming it is good condition you have a rare Yamaha 4 stroke twin with a notched transom and DV. Good thing is even though sale prices are low this will help you equally on the new purchase and may be a wash.

Ask yourself these questions right now?

1. What is the least amount you would consider taking for it (or can take for it based on financing and investment). Go on every on-line boat site and see what people are "asking" for a comparable boat. WARNING they will be all over the place based on each situation. Chances are in most cases a 2006 model boat will still have a lean on it and many need the pay off. Pay attention to how long there boat has been advertised if noted (this will indicate poor condition, no interest in that model or asking too much) and if one looks too cheap call and see if they still have it. If it is a dealer sometimes they will place leader ads on boats they do not even have (or ever had) to get you to call and sell you a different one. Beware and do not deal with them if you feel this is the case as they are not ethical. Disregard all of there listings.


**If you want to sell yours quick you need to be the best price and value.

Allot of people say it is a bad time to sell a boat. This is true unless you are looking to upgrade because it is equally a good time to buy. When values go up they will affect new and used boats and may find your self in a similar situation.

2. Can you afford to get the 28' now and hold on to your 25' until the market improves? No telling for sure when that will be and your boat may depreciate offsetting the possibly favorable future market conditions. There are too many unknown factors to consider here including future interest rates, oil costs and even if new Parkers will be available (I sure Hope So). All of these factors will play in. Do the math.


This is what I would do.

If you decide to sell your boat advertise it everywhere you can. You may need to shell out a few hundred dollars but it will pay off if you really want top dollar. Take all the pictures you can and post as many as you can. If the advertiser will only allow a certain amount of pictures put a low resolution file together and a high resolution one and give an email address to request them in you add. Take your time and write a very detailed description (without abbreviations) listing every single option including standard options. Make your add stand out in front page color or bold and boast service record, condition, Parker, Yamaha name & options. People who have owned boast previously such as you realize how expensive those options are and important maintenance is.

E-Bay - if you list here Use advice above and try two ways.
1. List with No Reserve and put your starting price at the lowest you would consider taking for it. Make sure you put No Reserve in auction header. Do Not Use "Buy It Now"
2. List with reserve and start your bidding at $1000.00. Set your reserve at the lowest you will consider taking for it.

I am not a big fan of boat brokers as they are sitting on allot of boats to cross over too and will push the ones that make them the most money. There average fee is 5% of the sale price. You can reach a much broader audience with the internet and sell it for less netting the same money. Low price sells quicker.

This is THE time of the year to sell it. Your boat is a highly sought after, well equipped multi tasking machine.

I seems like the Mod V's with the singles are a dime a dozen...but your DV makes it a little more marketable.

The economy sucks but there are still people spending money here and there. I would get that boat on the market NOW. It is a perfect rig for the north east.

Problem is there are a lot of boats chasing very few buyers and most of those buyers have a boat to sell too. If you could get $54,900 I think that would be all the money.

Yes. It was at a Used Dealers lot and started at $69.900.00 Last year e in March before gas got to $4.00. As gas and the economy turned bad the price came down. It finally sold in August for $54.900.00. Only the economy made it sell for that. A year earlier no problem getting the asking price. I know that prices are dirt cheap for new and used right now. I was only giving the post what I saw one with every option go for.
