My offshore rods are rigged fairly similarly. Both the Penn 50VSW's and 70VS's have Jerry Brown 130 lb Hollow Core with an end-loop spliced in. On top of that are my windon-topshots, 100lb Momoi Diamond, connected via a loop to loop.

My offshore jigging rods are Penn 16VSX and an Accurate BX2-600. They have Jerry Brown 80lb Hollow core backing, and only 25' wind-ons, usually 80lb Momoi Diamond.

I am a striped bass junky.

Trolling is 30lb mono on planerboard lines (momoi or ande). Deep Umbrella lines are top shotted with 65lb braid on 330 gtis. All leader is 60lb Ande mono

Chumming rods and lighter trolling rigs (for summer resident fish) are 20lb mono on 310 gtis. I use 50lb or 40lb ande for leader.

Livelining/coastal jigging stuff is 30lb power pro on various reels from Penn 965 or 460L. I use 30lb mono leader, more if bluefish are around or most targeted fish are citation size. .

Light tackle rods get 15lb power pro on a shimano 2500 or Daiwa Megaforce. I use 20 or 30lb mono leader
