When Are New Outboards Released?

What time of the year are new Yamaha's released? Any changes anticipated in the upcoming models? I would hate to order a new 2520 with a single 300 only for Yamaha to release a ~350 in the same size. Thanks.

Not certain, but the 'new' model outboards almost never coincide with the 'new' hulls.
My 1996 2520 MVSC wears a factory hung 1997 Yamaha OX66, so my late 96 hull wears an early 97 motor.

My guess is that has been the case for many years.
If that concerns you, you might want to wait for a mid model year boat, but honestly... does it really matter?

I think the OP is thinking they are going to come out with a 350 similar to their 300. I did read that someplace, maybe on THT,but like Kevin stated the new engines never come out at the same time as the new hulls.

Ah, gotcha.

The current 300 Offshore is a 4.2L V6. The 350 is a V8.
Could Yamaha be developing a 350 V6? It's possible I suppose.

Yep, that's what I heard. Maybe the flywheel issues with the 350 is possible reason for change.

Thanks guys, I've resigned myself to the fact that I won't find what I'm looking floor on the showroom floor (2520 open back, probably horizon blue, free standing 2nd station) so thought I would order new this Fall. I would be pi$$ed to learn I just missed a more powerful motor in the same form factor as the current 300.
