Never heard of that before but, like in the movie, "Social Network" drop the, "THE". "Pacific Gypsy" sounds better. 8)

I try to look at it from a hailing perspective. calling someone on the radio, the call would go something like "this is (boat name) calling the motor vessel Pacific Gypsy" or something like that. saying "the motor vessel The Pacific Gypsy" just sounds odd to me. but, to each their own.
