Hello Guy's & Gal's;

The sharkhide I put on the frames is doing just great so far this season. Boat has been in water 4 months. So far no more pitting, you can feel salt residue on frames I wipe that off with water on a rag but no pitting.

P.S. I will keep all updated!

i have diamond seaglaze windows on my Osprey...when i bought it was already pitted especially on the centre window which opens. Since i have had it i have been using silicone spray and spraying all the frames and the rubbers on the opening window and door...is holding up pretty well, but i am anal about this and spray any chance i get :)

Well, after a few months of applying wd40 to the window frames after a quick soap and water wipe down, I can say that the small white salt crystals are NOT accumulating on the frames in any significant amount.

I also just installed the louvered hatch vents to exhaust some of the cabin heat, put a truck size window sun shade in the front windows and, since I have access to shore power, I put a big fan (on a timer) in the berth area to help circulate air.

I am curious to see if those mods, in addition to wd40, help totally eliminate the crystals. Even if they didn't, I am quite happy with the wd40 solution as the crystals aren't "adhering" to the frame like they used to. The used to stick like barnacles. Now, they seem to be sticking to the wd40 and wipe off easily.
