Currently have bucket seats and looking to replace with factory leaning post if possible. If anyone would like to sell one, I'm interested. Thanks!

If you want an easy option contact Kyle at Arrigoni Design Custom Boat Furniture, Samson Posts & Captain's Chairs For Sale from Arrigoni Design

They can build one for you that will fit right over your existing pedestals. Quick and simple - pull off your chairs and pop on the leaning post. Their standard 36" width will fit fine. I had mine made at 38" and added combo cup/rod holders. Paid a bit more but very happy. Kyle is a stand up guy.

Hi karenann, I am located in Providence, RI. I took some pictures of seats today and they are attached. I can provide measurements should your leaning post look to be compatible. Feel free to DM me! Thanks.

Thanks for this information jdisco! If I can't find a trade or someone who is interested in seats, I'll definitely give Kyle a call. Your leaning post looks great - like how you put the cup holders on the back of it with the grab rail.

I looked to do a swap as well with the factory leaning post. After digging in, I think you would have to remove the live well platform to get to 2 of the 4 pedestal bolts (per side) for removal. The other 2 can be accessed inside the live well. That would be the same for remounting the pedestals on the live well. Not to mention more measuring and drilling new holes plugging the old ones etc. FYI, there are plates sandwiched in the laminate to provide strength and support so you would have to drill through them (no biggie). I thought an easier way would be to just swap out the live wells and leave the mounts intact since you would have to remove it anyway. But that's a little effort as well assuming the party you want to swap with is ok with it. A bunch of screws, disconnect/reconnect plumbing and also have to reseal to make sure there's no water penetration. All can be done but it's a little work,. Then came the easiest (but more expensive) way and that was to have one made to fit over the pedestals. Takes a few minutes to install and I can always switch back to the chairs if/when desired,

FYI, the 23 and 21 measurements for the live well / seat setup should be the same. I went through all the measurements swapping with my boat and a 25 around the same model year and it was the same.

Hmmmm, this seems like the classic predicament of time versus money! We all know that one very well. You make some great points and believe that I will likely go the Arrigoni route and spend the cash. Like you say, I can then keep the seats and swap them if/when desired. My wife likes the seats so that will be a good compromise for everyone. The Arrigoni leaning post does seem to have a sharper angle to the bend in the seat -- a 90 degree instead of more rounded. Have you found this to be something you like, don't notice, or don't like?

I have no problems with the sharper bend and really like the deeper seating on the one I had made. I can sit on it comfortably and the padding is thick so it doesn't dig in when leaning. Best of both worlds in my opinion. The combo cup/rod holders are awesome as there are no cupholders in the earlier 21SEs. Downside is they are expensive. I would pay attention to seat height though. I'm not that tall (5'9") so the standard mounting brackets screwed into the starboard base works well for me. I would have to check the seat height but it's lower than the chairs by a few inches. The chairs were too high for me anyway. I opted to make mine a little wider 38" but you can save a few $$ by going with the 36". You can also eliminate the grab rail ($50). I don't really use it. Lastly the bait well lid will hit the rod holders when opening so you have to position (fore/aft) to get the right seating position and still be able open the lid enough for access. It really wasn't a problem for me and I'm very happy with the setup. Hope it helps.
