On the bottom of the housing in front of carbs is what looks like a drain. It drips oil occasionally. There are two small hoses. One black coming from the top of the oil res. One grey coming from the oposite side of the block. Should one of these be conected to that drain? or are they all breather lines? Thought I'd ask here before stopping in at the dealer.
Thanks

That would be the Air Silencer, never run an OB at power without one, BTW.

Yam's own schematics show the one to the oil reservoir connecting to the bottom of the silencer. Not sure where the other goes, but would guess it is a breather or vent line from the crankcase. On my OMC V6, it is routed into the top of the air silencer. Many times even the OEM manuals aren't that specific with some of these smaller hose routings.

Hope at least one part of this helps! Back to work now ...

Thanks Dale. I figured one of them had to connect to the silencer. BTW whats the website where you got the schematics? The owners manual was no help at all.

They both connect to the back of the silencer.. there are two connectors, both on the lower port side. I forget which goes where, but just match the ID of the hose with the size of the connector.
