hi to all , been doing some research and im getting to many mixed messages about hpdi yamahas , some people feel that there ok and mechanics are telling me , its not if they go bad its for sure they will, when they go bad there very expensive to fix , please advise me t/y

The 300's were the bad ones, the smaller ones are fine.

I walked away from a Hydra Sports 3300vx for a sweet deal before I got my 2530 because of those engines.

thanks for the 411 , small world the boat i was looking at was a hydra sport with twin hpdi, i own a 36 ft egg harbour and a 22 cc hydra sport with a 250 merc / im buying a 2520 /1999/ loaded ,soon as this weather breaks and i can get the marina to launch her for the test ride , but usually when we have this kinda weather the spring strippers are hot once again thank you regards johnny b

No first hand knowledge but have considered boats with them. Make sure you have all the factory updates done, there are several. These fix the issues that make them blow up. Save you pennies (~15k) for an F250 for when it does blow up, they are not worth fixing once they go. The 300 and 250 hpdi have issues from what I read. The smaller motors (<250) have been good.
