Just curious for those of you that have the Yamaha extended warranty.
Did you have to fill out any paperwork for this? Did you get any notification back from Yamaha such as a certificate or card showing that you have the extended warranty, what it covers, and how long it is in effect?
I asked the dealer and they said they "filled out all the paper work and its in the computer".
I havent received anything in the mail yet.
I just want to make sure I'm covered!

I bought a preowned Parker that had an extended warranty on the Yamaha 250. To transfer the warranty I sent Yamaha copies of the Bill of Sale, my new state registration for the boat, and the previous owner's original Yamaha Warranty Registration Card. It took from 1 to 2 months but I finally received a Yamaha Warranty Registration Card in my name.

I saw no reference to the extended warranty so I called Yamaha and they told me that you usually don't get any separate paper work showing transfer of the extended warranty. They checked in their system and did confirm that the extended warranty was now under my name. If you are the original owner, you should have a contract that you signed for the extended warranty (I think it is a yellow piece of paper as I have the one provided to the orignal owner of my boat, but do not have it in front of me at the moment).

I purchased a new Parker in 2007 with twin Yamaha 150s. The dealer sent in the registration. I received from Yamaha an Extended Service Plan Identification card. It lists the info on the motors and the expiration date of the warrantee... in my case, 5/20/2013. So, I would say you should have gotten or will soon get something directly from Yamaha.

I would also add that the document I got from Yamaha states "A dealer may refuse to provide service if you cannot show proof of Y.E.S. Plan, such as this card". Also note that I got a card for each motor.

Thanks guys!
If I don't get the card, I'll give the dealer a call along with Yamaha.

Did you buy the extended warranty or did you get it via a promotion?

Are you a resident of Florida?

Florida residents do not get an extended warranty card if they obtain the extended warranty via a promotion.

I took delivery of my boat in Mar 2002, and about 2.5 years later, I got two letters from Yamaha about the Yamaha Extended Service (YES) plan. I signed up for about $1,100 per motor. I received certificates in the mail and have kept them in my boat binder all these years. I guess I go over the 3 year YES (6 years total) this month.

Both motors have been nearly flawless for all 635 hours each. Could have saved $2,200, but I wouldn't have slept as good at night.

Call yamaha and make sure the paperwork was processed. Mine was not but i was able to push it thru when the boat was less than two months old. P.S I have yet to have to use the waranty thank god.
And I have paperwork that shows the YES "Yamaha Extended Service" is good.

It took some time for my warranty to enter the Yamaha system. I called them and they gave me a number to reference my warranty and told me it would show up on any repair place authorized to do Yamaha repairs. I was concerned because the warranty card I received in the mail after buying my new 2007 motor only went out three years to 2009.

I asked if they could send me a hard copy of my extended warranty and they said yes without hesitation. The Yamaha Outboard Customer Relations man sent me a letter showing my Y.E.S. warranty runs until 2012. You can reach them at 1-866-894-1626 if you want to check your warranty or get a letter to verify it. ................Pete

I got a yes card acknowledging my extended warranty within a few months of purchasing the engine. If came with maintenance tracking logs, and instructions on how to document your maintenance of the engine.
