Here is a link to the list of Perf Bulletins. Only 1 200HP 4 stroke on a 23SE CC. Figure the weight difference, reduce the speed and increase the fuel consumption #'s accordingly for the PH boat.

I agree with Optimaxfish, 200 too short for this size boat. I think the max for the 2320 is 300hp. My choice, if I were to do it over, would be F250 minimum![/url]

wow thats crazy, they have 3 2008 2320"s with the f200 they told me @ wot she will do 40 mph and have great fuel consumption.is the f200 a reliable engine

200-4 is a very reliable engine. IMO, boats ordered by dealers w/minimum power are price point boats for customers who want to save $1000. I know of at least one 23 cabin/200 owner here who had to pay maybe $10,000 to get rid of 200 and go to 250.

You might "get by" with 200 if you restrict fishing to bays and lakes. Empty hull, w/little fuel and 1 person might run 40. What will happen w/4 fishermen, full ice, (hopefully) full fish boxes coming in on the backs of 4-6 footers? The "fuel consuption" angle is IMO, BS. Go to Yamaha Perf Bulletins and compare an underpowered hull with full power for yourself.

Get salesman to show you Yamaha Perf Bulletin for his "hot" combo. Why do you think he's got THREE left over? How many 23's w/250 does he have left over?

you are so right that great info thank you very much..thats why they called me hahahah

A dealer is not gonna give you anymore for your boat than you can sell it to general public for (especially in these times). Find out what dealer will give you cash for your boat.

Check out "Chunga''s boat in for sale thread. Downside is a trip to Fla in winter time..............or would that be upside!

yeah i saw that boat i would like something newer, that boat trader has alot 23"s with 250 4 strokes--thank you for the info

Here is a good boat HP Estimator Link for planing hulls only. It allows you to enter many variables and see how additional weight, deadrise, etc. changes power requirements. As far as I can determine, it looks as is if every 20 pounds eats up another hp (with the example I ran). Also, hp requiments seem to remain the same for all deadrises until exceeding 16 degrees, then they seem to remain unchanged again above that.
