With the warm weather today I got around to some maintenance on the 2530. As I was pulling the plugs I notice a little build up around the zincs in the heads of both motors so I decided to pull them.
I'm glad I did because they were leaking and the rubber gaskets were damaged?? Either they were installed incorrectly or someone before me pulled them to check and put them back wrong. I was hesitant to pull them last spring because I figured I would damage the seal and have to wait to launch the boat. If I knew they were already damaged that wouldn't have mattered.
Anyway here are some pics. At-least the boat is out until April so I can gather the parts. My engines have over 700hrs on them and I should have checked them when I bought the boat but I didn't. I would suggest everyone check these every 200hrs like the manual says.
FWIW - I flush the engines after each trip, the area in the water jacket looks great, the corrosion is just around the top of the zincs as you can see.
