Anyone want to help get my Yamaha running this year?

I'm not familiar with 4-Stroke VST, but can you hook up a fuel pressure gauge to it like you can with 2-stroke? -- Tom

Anyone want to help get my Yamaha running this year?

I just wanted to make sure you added gas back into the VST tank after draining - either by filling manually or by using the primer bulb. I've forgotten that step in the past and wondered why the engine wouldn't start. -- Tom

    Lower Unit Seals. ...leaker!!

I just replaced both prop and drive shaft seals this weekend - had picked up some fishing line around the prop at the end of last season and had milky oil last fall when changing it out. I didn't have the equipment to run the pressure test first, so assumed the prop shaft seals were the main...

Trim indexing ring on Yamaha 115

Memory is a little shaky, but I'm pretty sure the ring has a plastic nub on the inside that will only fit in one position. Found this pic on THT: -- Tom

    Trim Tab

What type of tabs? Electric or Hydraulic? I'd start with the switch and work from there. I've had to replace the switch on my 1999 hydraulic Boat Levelers. -- Tom

Fiberglass transom cracking - is this a do it yourself?

I've been through this a few times on my '99 21DVCC. I'd recommend opening up the cracks a bit into the "V" shape with a dremel as Dale recommends, making sure that the exposed area is completely dry. You'd probably want to remove as much as the 5200 as possible beforehand. Next I would...

    500 RPM

At this point I would only focus on the prop if I knew that motor itself was in perfect running condition.. in other words, make sure all your engine maintenance has been done, especially in all areas of the fuel system - pumps, screens, injectors, etc.. A collection of small things could...
