    Need a list of materials

Go to simyamaha.com Once you select your engine year and motor, a picture/list of the most common maintenance items will be displayed. Great prices and service, highly recommended. I just noticed that they also have a 100 HR service section.. same thing, select your engine and they have...

    2 micron filter question?

I've made the switch to a 2 micron and have been running it for about a season and a half without any problems. I run a 1999 Yamaha 0X66. I had been accumulating that fine gray powder in my VST filter, but was cleaning it out every 100 hours to stay ahead of it and prevent any problems. Now...

Engine Cut Out At High RPM's

On my 1999 21DV, the fuel line ran right from the tank fitting, over the tank and straight back to the port side transom where it was secured with wire ties. It did not run through a rigging hose or anything, and was very easy to remove once I was able to squeeze my arm in and snip the wire...

Engine Cut Out At High RPM's

I think you were on the right path with your original diagnosis.. other than the common maintenance items mentioned above, your problems could also be caused by a deteriorating fuel line. A boat next to mine had a similar problem with the same motor of a similar vintage, the fuel line was...

    yamaha 225 ox66 question

They both connect to the back of the silencer.. there are two connectors, both on the lower port side. I forget which goes where, but just match the ID of the hose with the size of the connector. -- Tom

    Transom crack?

I've had matching cracks on either side of my 1999 2100. In both cases, I used a dremel tool to open them up a little, drizzled as much penetrating epoxy into them as I could and topped off with white marine-tex once the epoxy has dried. I hope it is just the gelcoat like Dale suggests, I even...

Cleaning hull -- Thank you Megabyte

How'd you apply the FSR? I've used it the last couple of seasons to attack hull stains at the waterline.. the problem is it does such a good job that it makes the rest of the hull look dirty. All the warnings and what-not make me very leery of using too much.. I think I've settled on applying...

adding forward casting deck to an 1801

What about a removable platform, like what the flats boats guys use, but sized to fit the forward portion of deck so that the edges are flush with the bow? It would sit on legs and be attached to the deck with some sort of turnbuckle to keep it in place. Just an idea. -- Tom

    Spring Cleaning Fuel Question

Andy, Either or is fine, but DON'T MIX THEM! If you do have to switch from one or the other, try to run down whats in the tank as low as possible, then add as much of the other type as you can. If it were me, I'd pick one that is most readily available and go with it. -- Tom

    Dinner With Dale

FYI, the 3rd Anniversary of Classic Parker was on Feb 15th! And to address some of your concerns, I currently backup the database at least every couple of months, and make a complete mirror of the filesystem about once a month. So knock on wood, if anything were to happen to the CP servers, it...

    Spring Cleaning Fuel Question

Yeah, I was just thinking that if you can take a quick look it would be a good idea. If it looks like the pic in Dale's post, then you've got some work ahead of you :) If it looks clean and with no obvious signs of water or phase separation, then I would treat it and top off with fresh fuel...

    Spring Cleaning Fuel Question

I would feel better about either option if you could inspect the fuel first -- I'd remove the fuel sender unit (good time to check the connections and see if the gasket needs to be replaced) and peer into the tank with a flashlight. On my boat I can see straight in to the bottom of the tank and...
