Help with windows for a 2520

The window on our 2013 2520's still have no corrosion. I posted a video that shows I removed all the screws, coated them with Fluid Film, then installed a nylon washer on them when I reinstalled them. No dissimilar metals make contact. It is now 10 years, and the windows still have zero...

Hi Lloyd, welcome to Classic Parker! Is the boat you're looking at the one with the dark blue hull and wood framing around the windshields? (see photo below). If so, I don't know if it is actually a 'Linwood Parker', Parker. (One site mentions it is a 'full displacement' hull, not a planeing...

Minimum operating depth for 2320 SC

I too have pushed-the-envelope on a few, rare, 'had-no-choice' times, but I would not want to do it on a regular basis.

    Toe Kick / Fishing Ruler

I did not have to cut it. I was a perfect size!☺

    Toe Kick / Fishing Ruler

Our fish-ruler is installed on the port-side toe-kick. It's made of Starboard. I installed it there to be able to lay the fish beside it on the deck, and it's right near both the sea-water and fresh-water wash-down hose. https://www.tackledirect.com/deep-blue-starboard-fish-ruler.html

Minimum operating depth for 2320 SC

Hi Mark, you asked minimum depth to 'navigate without problems', with your 2320; we have a 2520 XLD that's listed as 18" draft. Your 2320 lists as a 15" draft. For practical purpose, 3 inch difference is not a factor so I'll offer an opinion. When running slow/displacement-speed (as you would...

    Cabin curtain

It sounds like you're looking for a 'factory' curtain set up? If not available, I think it would be easy to self-make a variety of solutions. Make a curtain out of most any durable fabric, and hang it on a shower-track using small shower-curtain slides.

Plastic pipe flange, any ideas? 2320 rod holders

Hi Bodick, If you are referring to a product like 'Damp-Dry' when you mentioned a 'tub of moisture remover', search here at CP for that conversation. (I gave a detailed explanation as to why they cannot/will not prevent mold/mildew-related issues in a boat). In short, 'Damp-Rid' and other...

New member - love this site

Hey GregB, Welcome to Classic Parker; you found a great looking 2100! The Morehead City area is a fishing paradise, and the Beaufort Inlet is arguably the best/safest inlet in N.C. , but on the bad-weather days, there are a lot of back-waters to fish.... Here's the Beaufort Inlet on one of those...

Fuel Tank Failure in Parker Boats

My guess why Parker (and a lot of other planeing-hull boat manufacturers) use aluminum for fuel tanks is weight (they are light-weight), and cost (they are a low-cost alternative). Other boats I've owned had black-iron fuel tanks, S/S water tanks (two, 100 gallon tanks), and one had monel (at...

    Marine Radio Parker 2530

Hi Capt. Lakay, For performance, most all brands of the VHF radios are fine; but the antenna choice will have a lot to do with the performance. Our last boats had 18' tall, 9db antennas, and could reach out well over 40 miles. On our 25' Parkers, an 8' 6db is a better choice because of the...

    Manufacturer Defect

Simply running a bead of caulk is not the best way to fix it. If it works at all, it will likely be a temporary fix at best. I doubt anyone would go to the trouble and expense of doing the best fix. (removing the rub-rail; grinding/sanding; fiber-glassing the hull-deck joint...

    Manufacturer Defect

I understand now, and I hope your boat is not experiencing it. Unfortunately, a hull-to-deck leak is Not uncommon in the boat-building-universe, but it Is completely unnecessary. The highest quality boats will often fiberglass the shoe-box-lid joint, in essence making the hull and deck one...

The Out on the Reef video, and hull to deck joint/rub-rail leak issue, is relatively new; within the last week or so.

    2520 XLD fuel economy

I didn't mention that above, but our bottom is also painted; I suppose that adds a small speed-penalty, at least compared to a waxed, gel-coated bottom. You're getting about the same fuel economy as ours, even considering the extra weight of your twin 200's. And it sounds like you're usually...

    2520 XLD fuel economy

For comparison, our 2520 XLD with a 2014 single 300 Yamaha, averages 2.1 to 2.2 mpg at 4300 -4400 rpm. (This yields 30-32 mph). ... With a full load of 200 gallons of gas, water tank, coolers, heavy bimini, fishing gear, 3 people etc, it averages 1.8-1.9. mpg. But, I seldom have the tank full...
