    Yamaha exhaust repair

Would I replace the exhaust regardless of corrosion? Ans: No. If I had a model year 2000-early 2005 Yamaha F200-250, I would plan on replacing the exhaust regardless of condition unless the exhaust had previously been replaced. I might even lump 2006 motors into this age bracket. But I...

    Yamaha exhaust repair

The exhaust kit (with every single part you'll need to replace) is $800 shipped to your door. If you want to also replace the oil pump while you have the powerhead removed, it's an extra $300-350 You'll also need to purchase the 2 upper and 2 lower mounting bolts for the swivel bracket (you'll...

    Yamaha exhaust repair

Yes ..... all 4 were the F225. That said, the process for repairing the dry exhaust would be the exact same for the F250 3.3l.

    Yamaha exhaust repair

Yes. I've repaired 4. Did all 4 myself. It's an easy job. I can now do a complete engine in about 6 hours. Did the corrosion return? Nope. The newly designed exhaust is a different metal and different coating than the original. The Yamaha 3.3l F225 is a very reliable engine. I'd...

    2021 2302 Ride Quality

Ride quality is highly subjective and depends upon your past experiences on other boats, your individual tolerance, and specific weather conditions. Overall, the 23 DV hull from Parker has a very good to excellent ride quality in seas 2ft or less. A 2ft sea typically corresponds to winds...

Is the factory live well any good?

It's a pretty bad livewell on an otherwise pretty darn nice boat.

    2300DV Trailering?

You'll be glad to have brakes on at least 1 axle. 2 would be even better. I towed a 2300 DVCC with a F350 7.3 and was glad I had brakes on both axles. I've had a few problems with Kodiak brakes. Never had any problems with DeeMaxx including on my current trailer.

    Ships ground

Small boats such as Parkers and virtually all other boats under 30-35ft do not have a grounding plate. In such a case, you need to "ground" your electrical equipment to the negative (black) side of your 12 volt (or 24v) system. Don't confuse this grounding wire with the negative 12v DC wire...

    2820 Milage

The reported/observed mpg in "calm water/moderate load" is typically 20% better than real world mpg (ie carrying ice, 4 fat fishing dudes, a bunch of gear and 1-3ft seas) For example, my Parker 23 DVCC/Yamaha F300 would observe 3.0 to 3.3 mpg in calm water/moderate load. But in real world...

What's the best way to make my new 2320 Parker w/F300... slower?

Agree with Jim ^^^^^. The 23 DV hull can certainly run 30-35mph in calm water, but in real world conditions, the hull performs best at 20-25 mph in seas over 2ft and 25-28 mph in seas 1ft or so. Match your motor and prop to the conditions you'll be running. There's no need for a F300 if...

What's the best way to make my new 2320 Parker w/F300... slower?

Smaller motor. I agree with you. The F300 is a great motor in flat seas but not so great in seas over 2ft and you want to cruise at 17-20mph without getting beat-up. This hull used to come standard with a 200hp Yamaha OX66 2-stroke outboard. Then a 225. Then a 250. In rougher seas, a...

New Member, South Georgia- Fishing the Gulf Coast of Florida

If you plan on running at night - YES! If you want to see the movement of rain/thunder storms - YES (but you could also use a Sirrus satellite feed into your Raymarine display) I wouldn't own a boat without a radar.

New Member, South Georgia- Fishing the Gulf Coast of Florida

In real world conditions, you'll see really close to 1.8 - 2.0 mpg with that setup. I used to be a die-hard Raymarine guy. This goes all the way back to the Pathfinder series (early 2000's). Fast forward to 2020 ..... I've simply had too many failures with the Raymarine touchscreens. I'm...

    Permatrim top or bottom mount?

You can install the Permatrim in either position ..... above or below the anti-cavitation plate. I think below is now preferred. In terms of losing RPM from your WOT caused by the installation of Permatrim ..... fear not. You won't loose anything. You won't gain speed nor will you loose...

    1990 2300 CC DV rebuild

Overall she seems to be in really good condition. Wood appears to be dry throughout the floor. Hopefully the stringers and transom are also dry.

    Fuel Filter Mount

You are 100% correct FlyingKnot. So to continue your point, I would question where you might be seeing an electrolyte in a fuel filter housing attached to a wood/fiberglass stringer held in place by 2 stainless steel lag screws. You certainly aren't suggesting that gasoline is an...

    Fuel Filter Mount

Regardless if you call it electrolysis or galvanic corrosion (the process that eats away less noble metals in the presence of saltwater), neither process is occurring in the scenerio being discussed in this thread ....... ie, when a SS fastener is attaching an aluminum fuel filter housing to the...

    Fuel Filter Mount

The fact that 2 dissimilar metals are making contact is irrelevant in this context (assuming that you are alluding to electrolysis) since there is no saltwater flow across/through the fuel filter and as such, no electrical current developed.
