Nice job! At about 1k- did you price out getting this powder coated? What clearcoat product did you end up going with?

Probably not the best for long term durability. The stuff that hasn't flaked yet..is on its way. ( even after you scuff it up with some sanding). Getting paint to stick on a constantly wet aluminum surface is a daunting premise that will unfortunately require an investment in proper preparation.

I would suggest you find out where the water is coming from? Once you determine that- we can all discuss a specific remedy =)

I've used Lee's - not sure what the OD of the launcher tube is- But I know the Lee product can go up to 2.375". On my 2320- I actually added two to the vertical grab rails ( 1 on each side). ( These rails are much smaller diameter than the launcher) Lee product seems to be made well( Good welds...

I found a brand on Amazon that I used in a Mako restoration project- AMARINE. I was impressed with the fit/finish. Latches and seal were watertight. Reasonably priced too!

She's a BIG 28. Not going in the water until first week of April. Getting rigged out with Garmin Radar, Sirius Antenna, and a pair of Gemlux riggers. Also getting a custom enclosure done (will start a thread for the CC folks- because there is zero drilling into anything for this one.)

Discussed this with my dealer rigger today. The top already has the backing plates built in with the 3" x 5" bolt pattern pre drilled right? He felt pretty confident that the baseplate and the t-top backing plate were enough for my intended use without worry. I'm going with 18 footers and do not...

Intel: Center consoles being completed and shipped much quicker than expected. Supply chain constraints for pilot house components ( I was told windows/doors) are bumping CC's up the production queue. I ordered mine on October 9th 2021...it arrived today ( with motors!).
