How is my 2300DV sitting on the trailer?

Well, that has been the trailer since 2000. Towed it from North Carolina to Mass and stored it on it ever since. Bought the boat used and that's what it had. seems to work just fine.

    Getting bow down on 2300

I have a 2300 with the standard tabs and no permatrim. I am not a fan of adding full time drag when it is not needed full time. I moved my batteries to the forward part of the console, put my cooler and tackle box in front of the console when running, trim the engine and tabs down and have no...

How is my 2300DV sitting on the trailer?

Have the empty trailer sitting in front of my house now. Measured it up. Distance from very front where the ball sits to the base of the winch post is just shy of 6 feet. Overall length of the bunks is 10 feet Bunks extend beyond the aft cross bar by about 3 feet.

    23DV Helm Dimensions

The Sea Shock pad is firm, not squishy. However, it does, indeed, dampen the pounding. I wouldn’t be without it.

I have a 23DV and the Sea Shocks pad fits right in that space

    23DV Updates

I moved my batteries into the console on my 23DVa few years ago. I do notice a difference in balance at slow speeds and it gets on plane quicker. However, the biggest benefit is that the batteries are now in a safe, dry location should there be any water that gets into the bilge area.

How is my 2300DV sitting on the trailer?

I don't have access to my trailer at the moment, but I'd say bunks extend about 2 feet.

How is my 2300DV sitting on the trailer?

Mine is a 2000. Have owned it since 2008. Looking again at the comparative pictures, I'd say my bunks start in the same spot on the trailer as yours, but are about 2 feet longer off the back end. Easy switch to get 2x12 and make new bunks and cover them with indoor/outdoor carpeting. Also...

How is my 2300DV sitting on the trailer?

Axles are not too far back! As you can see, I have the same trailer and axles are exactly the same spot. The issue is that the boat is too far forward on the trailer. By about 1 1/2 to 2 feet. Bunks may need to come aft a bit.

    Can’t buy a new Parker

This sounds suspiciously like antitrust behavior. Their dealer agreements define the geographies they can sell to? That is absurd.

    Enthol vs non-enthol

In Massachusetts we have no choice. Have to run E10 fuel. I am a HUGE fan of Startron. helpful hint...if you can find the Startron for diesel, it is usually the same price as normal Startron, but is twice the concentration so you can use half as much. I confirmed this with a Startron tech...

    Understanding the Battery Switch

BEP all the way. Based on this forum and my frustration trying to achieve exactly why the original poster was looking to do I had the BEP installed last year. Best money I’ve spent on the boat.

Livewell - How do you not get the livewell to fill with water?

The flooding livewell thing happened to a buddy of mine when his wife put their picnic lunch in the livewell thinking it would stay dry. Your well should definitely not fill with the seacock off.

Do You Keep the Outboard Running

Unless anchored right near shore, "on". When jigging for mackerel we actually tilt it up so it is making exhaust noises on the surface. The fish seem to come by so investigate.

    88 Center Console

I have a 2000 center console, 23 DV. I would assume yours is the same since the transom is enclosed. Deadrise should be 21 degrees. I don't think a live well in the transom makes a ton of sense. There is already too much weight back there unlee you have moved the batteries to the console...

Adding Gunnel Cup Holders and Rod Holders

Agree with Pelagic. Working with basic epoxy is easy and very effective. However, the best advice I can give is to not install the combo cupholder/rod holders. They are cosmetically a good idea, but significantly weakens the rodholder function.

Low Battery Alert on VHF and readings from batteries

What he said... Particularly about checking the connections to make sure they are meticulous and tight. I also highly recommend getting a system to isolate your starting battery from your house battery. BEP is just one maker, but the concept is the same and not very expensive given the peace...

    Garmin 8616xsv ?

I have a Garmin touch screen on my 2300DV and have not found it to be a problem at all. It's pretty rare that I'm making changes on my screen while running and bouncing around.

    Bottom paint?

I guess NC is very different than MA. No stigma of bottom paint up here.

    Bottom paint?

I have bottom paint and leave my boat on a mooring for the season. No issues. A key point is to have an epoxy barrier coat applied before and anti fouling paint. I can't for the life of me understand the advantage of constantly launching and hauling the boat every time you want to use it. I...
