Here are a few pics of the boat I purchased from another member on the board. She was in really great condition and needed little work. I'm going to post a few pics of the boat as well as a list of what we have done so far and what we have planned.

The boat is a 1989 Parker 25' Sport Cabin. She was really in great shape a few spots of damage and some dock rash but overall the hull was in really great shape. Our goal on the restore is not to make her a mint boat, but to restore her to a high quality fishing boat. She will be used well. Boat has twin 115 Merc Opti Max, we were told one of the engines had low compression however after the work we completed that has been resolved all cylinders are 115-120 start and run well. She did come with a radar unit and well as a Raymarine C120 (wow). ordering new chips for that unit. Overall she's an amazing boat and will be great fishing boat for Lake Lanier (my home lake) as well as the gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic. One day home to get back to my home state of Florida. Anyway here is the pics I'll post more as we get farther along as well as some close up detailed pics.

Congratulations on scoring a real Classic Parker!

I really like how clean she looks without the bow rail, tho I do understand why you might want to put one back on.
You've done a nice job making her your own. Keep up the good work!

Well here she is. Named her Deep Fried. Took her out on Lanier. We found a leak in one of the engines, turned out to be a gasket we pinched when we put in a new impeller. Easy fix. Runs great, trim tabs worked great, going to keep her on Lake Lanier for a while and do sea trials there. last Week of March she's hitting offshore in the Gulf for her first trip (with me) for grouper and snapper. still have the bow rail to add, have the stainless but need to fabricate, and installed a backup GPS (just in case). Also added a Spot as well as a PLB. Can't wait guys, as well as I get it in the gulf I'll post more pics. she's one heck of a boat.

new pic attached.

I too recently bought a 1989 2520 mod V
It is in really good shape ,rebuilt 305ci Chev I/O
The windlass was removed and just tape put over the holes...
I would like to add cabin heat but parker does not have layout of stringers for years before 1991 and the layout they sent was too big to print out.
I refinished the grab rails, added GPS,cleaned everywhere, and plan to add pull cleats, small ladder, windlass of course, and looking into opening type forward windows.
What wax did you use?
Anthony

honestly I can't remember the wax... I got it at west marine as I recall. we had to scrub her down, new bottom paint, etc The bow rail is just about complete and we'll be hitting the water. First plan to fish for some stripers on Lake Lanier but expect March/April she'll be in the gulf.

i'll post some more pics of the interior. We installed a backup lowrance HD5, Hummingbird Side Image sonar/GPS as backups for the C120 RayMarine. Everything works... had to replace the 3 batteries in the badk and I'm going to isntall a trolling motor as well for downrigging for stripers. We'll see if 70 lb thrust will pull that boat in the water. HA. Put in all new rod holders and other than that... she's just about ready to go. expect to be on lanier next weekend pulling umbrella rigs and plugs for stripers and come March/April hitting the gulf. got my HMS permit for tuna, etc and stocked up on some trolling gear and will be ready to use the outriggers. come on spring time and grouper season.

You need to send that photo to Robin at Parker Boats.
Great shot! 8)

I do have Robin's email somewhere I might just do that. The boats an 1989 so when you get up close you see a few dings and repairs but for a boat of her age she's really looking good. Also if I bump into something I'm not going to cry. I have a guy manufacturing a bow rail for me but I am hoping to launch her next weekend. I would be trying to do it tihs weekend but the los tonight is 17 and that's just a little dang cold to be on the water for me.

I did email to Robin who asked for pics with fish when I take her out. I'll post pics of the bow rail we made, the trolling motor I installed and some pics of the fish when I take her to St. George Island in the Gulf. Can't wait.

Are there any other Parker owners in Georgia or on Lake Lanier?
