Thats a beautiful compass!!
Im thinking of replacing mine. I believe its the original. Its okay in the daylight but impossible at night.
Thank you but it’s nothing special. I belive It also original, at night I’m pretty good with my instruments but i won’t have a boat without a decent compass!

Doing more and more brightwork today. The boat had a custom made wood cabinet System to the right of the driver seat. Honestly it’s not my favorite, but having all that small storage is nice. I will Be modifying it slightly before I reinstall. So i began Refinishing the second round of teak and the face of the drawers to really bring the entire cockpit together!

I did Have a couple guys ask about my last boat. It was a 88 sea ox center console. I redid The entire boat, mostly second hand items like newer console, used motor, wiring, but it was all sound. The biggest part of the project was the paint. I painted The inside and hull sides with awlgrip. It was my first time using the product and i did It complete by hand. I loved how it turned out and people would usually ask about how it was done. But the space on that boat was tough with two small children. If i didnt Come across the Parker I’d still have it. I sold It 3 days after i bought The Parker. It was a fun easy going boat.

Your Sea Ox looks great! Super job on the re-fit!... Sea Ox made a great boat and is still in big demand around here. Graham Flanagan started building them in Greenville NC, a mile or so from the Grady-White factory. To demonstrate just how strong his hulls were, Graham invited a crowd of people, media, boat-owners and City of Greenville officials to the factory one afternoon. He had rented a crane and had one of his boats dangling from a cable, about 20 feet in the air. He dropped the boat on the concrete drive. The concrete cracked; the boat just got scratched.... Graham is also the one who founded World Cat in Tarboro, NC; just north of Greenville.... Pair Custom boats are now building boats from the Sea Ox molds. I'm sure you all know the story on that!? (Sea Fox sued Pair for name-infringement, even though the Sea Ox name existed long before Sea Fox (and for that matter, long before Renken Boats; who was the grandfather of the folks building Sea Fox).... The best I've heard around here, Pair Custom, as a new 'start-up', decided it was not worth the $$$ to fight Sea Fox over it....

Great history on the brand! Yes i did Talk to Brian pair who purchased the brand name, he actually hooked me up with the modern “ sea ox” decals for that boat. He also sent me a few shirts and a sticker for my truck. Never asked me for a dime. Stand up guy. Shame sea fox did what they did. But they are a crap flashy boat in my opinion anyway. I have a few customers with them and I’m not impressed.

I knew, and did a lot of business with Brian's grandfather Percy Pair, back in the early 1970's. He owned Pair Electronics on Trade Street in Greenville, NC. I made my living playing in local bands and we got some of our parts and equipment from them. I also knew Jason and Todd (father)... All the Pairs are well-known and well-respected business folks in eastern, NC. ... "Ditto's" on your evaluation of Sea Fox. I have been onboard a couple and they are (in my opinion) about the same 'quality' the Renken's were !

Typical baltimore weather today, woke up to 32 degrees outside, by lunchtime it was 61. Pulled the Parker out of the shop and went to work again with the buffer. Hull is turning out great on both sides! Also power washed the bilges and rear bulkhead. Should have all the teak back on by Monday.

Kudos to you for re-doing the teak as you did. I unfortunately took the easy way out and painted it the same as the cabin color. Not a fan of the Parker cram color so I wnt with a siver white on my cabin and top side. Yours does look amazing finished as you did.

Thank you! It was a little bit of pain but very happy how it came out

Door is finished and looks great with double coats of gloss UV protectant. Unfortunately we’re getting close to reopening the shop for the new season so I’ll have to pull her out soon :(

Beautiful Parker!, and I would give my 'left toe' to have access to a shop like that!

Had some decent weather and got a few things done, installed the garmin GFS, fuel management system, wired up but still need to calibrate it. I did However find out that my boat had a 173 gallon fuel tank. Good info to know!

Also pulled both oil tanks to clean and replace filters and the oil pumps. The pumps are a little pricey at 140$ a piece but it’s a cheap insurance policy should something happen. Little bit of cleaner from the parts washer ate the old gunk out in no time! The insides of the tanks looks great now. Like many older two strokes i have worked on the bracket that holds the tanks were basically disintegrated. I’ll find some used ones.

I had a leak on my port trim tab, originally i thought The brass tube just needed some more sealant on it as this is a common issue i run Into. But upon further inspection there’s a hairline crack. No biggie I’ll order two new ones and be done. If one is brittle the other is to.

Did you end up wiring the GFS to the fuel level sensor in the tank? I topped off my fuel tank after several individual runs and found I did not have to tweak the calibration at all, once I figured out how to get around the trapped fuel in the vent.

Forgot how much time i dont Have to myself now that I’m back to work. Working on everyone’s boat but my own. I have Gotten a few things done tho. The biggest and most time consuming was hooking up the second station hydraulic lines. I thought I would Be able to keep the old lines since there was a quick connect close to the second station but that was not the case. Had to get a little creative to make the new connections. Hard lines forward to second station, new soft lines back to the motor.

Also replaced all the pitted rusted rod holders with some stainless ones from our parts supplier. Nothing fancy but they work and look better .

Unfortunately i noticed A little bit of water dripping in the cabin. There is a small crack there. Not sure how the water is getting in but i assume It’s collecting Here and then dripping in.

ordered lots of parts. Finding time to install them is the hard part. 4 new control cables and a two new rigging tube kits!
